JEE Main Cut off 2025: Qualifying cutoff for NITs, IITs, and IIITs, Opening and Closing Ranks
JEE Main cut off is of two types: qualifying and admission. While the qualifying cutoff determines the eligibility to appear for JEE Advanced, the admission cutoff determines whether a candidate is eligible for admission to NITs, IIITs & GFTIs.
JEE Main Cut off 2025
JEE Main Cut off 2025: The National Testing Agency releases the cutoff for the JEE Main exam 2025 on its official website - jeemain.nta.ac.in. The JEE Main cutoff is released after the session 2 result is declared. Candidates who qualify the JEE Main 2025 exam are called for the counselling process.
There are two types of JEE Main cut-offs: qualifying and admission. The minimum percentile required by students to qualify for JEE Advanced is referred to as the JEE Main Qualifying Cut off. JEE Main Admission Cut off, on the other hand, is the opening and closing rank for aspiring candidates seeking admission to NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs for the B.E/B.Tech program. Candidates must have a JEE score of at least 200 in order to get admitted to one of the top five NITs.

Aspirants who secure the minimum cut off marks will be called for the JEE Main counselling. The JEE Main cut off for the general category students stood at 93.2 percentile.

JEE Main Qualifying Cut off
Aspirants who clear the JEE qualifying cut off will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam. Through JEE Advanced examination, candidates would be eligible to take admission into IIT if he/she is able to meet the minimum cut off.
JEE Main Admission Cut off

What is the difference between JEE Main cut off and opening and closing rank?
JEE Main cut off 2025 is the qualifying cut off score. It is the minimum mark that candidates must obtain to be eligible for JoSAA Counselling. The opening and closing ranks are released by JoSAA for all NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs after each round of counselling. Candidates are granted admission on the basis of JoSAA Opening and Closing ranks.
When will JEE Main Counselling 2025 be conducted?
As of now, NTA has not released dates for JEE Main Counselling 2025. However, it is expected to be conducted tentatively in June 2025.
