JEE Main Cutoff 2024: Qualifying Cutoff, Admission Cutoff, Previous Year Cutoff

JEE Main cut-offs are of two types: qualifying and admission. While the qualifying cutoff determines the eligibility to appear for JEE Advanced, the admission cutoff determines whether a candidate is eligible for admission to NITs, IIITs & GFTIs.

JEE Main Cutoff 2024: The National Testing Agency will release the JEE Main Cutoff 2024 after session 2 is successfully conducted. Candidates who appeared for the JEE Main Session 1 & Session 2 exam will be able to check the cutoff released by NTA. Aspirants who secure the minimum cutoff marks will be called for the JoSAA counselling round. 

There are two types of JEE Main cut-offs: qualifying and admission. The minimum percentile required by students to qualify for JEE Advanced is referred to as the JEE Main Qualifying Cut-off. JEE Main Admission Cut off, on the other hand, is the opening and closing rank for aspiring candidates seeking admission to NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs for the B.E/B.Tech program. Candidates must have a JEE score of at least 200 in order to get admitted to one of the top five NITs.

The qualifying cut-off varies from year to year. The qualifying JEE cut-off for the General category has increased from 87.89 (in 2021) to 88.41 (in 2022), whereas the qualifying cut-off for OBC-NCL has decreased. JEE Main Cut off for OBC- NCL category was 68.02 in 2021, and it has lowered to 67.009 in 2022.

JEE Main Cutoff 2023

The JEE Main cutoff is established based on several factors, which encompass the level of difficulty of the examination, the overall number of test takers, and the available seat capacity for specific programs within the institution. These elements collectively influence whether the JEE cutoff increases or decreases. The JEE Main cutoff is typically published in the form of both opening and closing ranks.

JEE Main Qualifying Cutoff

Aspirants who clear the JEE qualifying cutoff will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2023 exam. Through JEE Advanced examination, candidates would be eligible to take admission into IIT if he/she is able to meet the minimum cutoff.

JEE Main Admission Cutoff

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) releases the admission cut-off for each round of JoSAA Counselling separately. The JEE Main Admission Cut-off is released for B.Tech/B.Arch admission to 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and 29 additional GFTIs.
