SAMS Odisha UG Admissions 2024: The Student Academic Management System (SAMS), Odisha has released the second merit list for the SAMS Odisha admission to undergraduate courses on the official website. Eligible candidates who have registered for undergraduate admission can check the merit list at samsodisha.gov.in. Candidates who are allotted seats can choose Slide/Freeze/Float option till July 8, 2024.
SAMS is a single window system for Admissions into +3 classes of Arts, Commerce and Science streams along with the Sanskrit Colleges. SAMS also maintains the academic and financial records of each student admitted into different colleges of Odisha. Students can check the list of colleges to apply from the SAMS website. The CAF can be applied through online mode only. Before applying for +3 level courses, candidates need to read the Common Prospectus (CP) thoroughly.

Students who want to apply for +3 courses of any stream in different colleges across Odisha, have to be registered to the SAMS Odisha website. SAMS Registration 2024
Candidates who want to get admissions in different colleges of Odisha have to get registered to the SAMS Portal. Once registered, the portal maintains the student academic and financial data in an order. Candidates need to register only once and they can apply for multiple courses with multiple college and honours options. Applicants can register themselves to the SAMS with the following process.
Step 1: Go to the official website of the SAMS Odisha - samsodisha.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on the Higher (+3) tab in the Higher Education section.
Step 3: Click on the New Student Registration button.
Step 4: Fill in the Name of the Student, Mobile Number, Mail Id and Date of Birth.
Step 5: Click on the generate OTP button and a six digit OTP will be sent to the above mentioned mobile number.
Step 6: Enter the OTP and create your password.
Step 7: Entered password must have at least one Upper Case, Lower Case, Digit and Special Character in it.
SAMS Odisha: Common Application Form (CAF)
After registration to SAMS, candidates can login into the e-space by clicking on the tab Existing Student Login. Applicants can login using their username/ mobile number and the password. Student portal contains following options:
- Common Application Form (CAF)
- Intimation Letter
- Admission Schedule
- Online Payment (CAF fees)
- Online Payment (Admission fees)
Applicants have to fill the required details in CAF form and click on the submit button. They are advised to keep important documents handy while filling the CAF. After the online submission, CAF form is automatically validated. If the CAF is not validated, applicants need to visit the nearest SAMS Resource Centre (SRC) for validation.
Documents needed for reference while filling the CAF
Applicants need to keep certain documents handy while filling the application form. The list of those documents are as mentioned below.
- Class 12 marksheet or the provisional mark sheet cum certificate or equivalent
- Scheduled Tribe/ Scheduled Caste Certificate
- Person with Disability (PwD) Certificate
- Ex-Serviceman Certificate (ESM)
- Service Defense Personnel Certificate (SDP)
- Children of Martyrs Certificate (CoM)
- NCC Certificate
- NSS Certificate
- Sports Weightage Certificate issued online

Students who have passed the Class 12 from any Board/ Council other than the CHSE Odisha have to fill the total marks obtained and the maximum marks mentioned in their Board Results.
SAMS UG Admissions 2024: CAF Fee
Candidates applying for Plus Three Admissions through SAMS portal have to pay a fixed application fee. Candidates can opt for many options in courses, streams, honours and colleges. SAMS does not charge an extra application fee for the multiple options. The application fee can be submitted through online mode only. Applicants can make the payment for application fee by clicking on the tab Online Payment (CAF Fees) in the Student Login. This fee is one time payment and non refundable.
SAMS UG Admission 2024: Submission of CAF
Candidates who have successfully applied for the UG Admissions through the SAMS Portal online have to submit the hard copy at the SAMS Resource Centre (SRC). Click on the Print button on the CAF page. Then, print the HEI Copy and the Applicant Copy of the application form. The hard copies of the Common Application Form have to be signed by the applicant and his/ her parents or guardian.
Submission of the CAFs at SRC
Candidates applying for +3 Admissions through SAMS have to affix his/ her passport size photo on the printouts of the HEI copy. The copy must also be signed by the applicant and his/ her parents or guardian. Photocopies of the documents mentioned in the HEI copy of the application form should also be self attested.
- Applicants have to submit the Higher Education Institution (HEI) copy of the CAF to the nearest SRC along with the photocopies of Documents mentioned under ‘Documents need to be Submitted’.
- The Applicant Copy should also be submitted at the CAF receiving counter. The applicant will receive a Money-Receipt-Cum-Index Number (MRIN) in return as an acknowledgement receipt.
- This MRIN will help in tracking the status of the application form.
- Applicants should submit the hard copies before the last day of submission notified by the SAMS.
SAMS UG Admissions 2024: Validation Process
Candidates who have passed the Class 12 from CHSE Odisha and not getting any reservation and weightage under any category and paid the CAF Fees online will get validated online automatically. These applicants need not visit the SRC for manual validation. If there is any discrepancy in the auto validated CAF, the applicant needs to go to the nearest SRC.
Candidates from a board other than the CHSE Odisha have to visit the nearest SRC for validation process. SRC members will manually check the documents and after verification, they will validate the CAF online. Candidates should get their forms validated before the last date notified by the SAMS Odisha.
Applicants cannot change any information in the CAF after the final online submission. They need to take the HEI and the Applicant Copy to the nearest SRC for the changes to be made.
SAMS UG Admission Procedure 2024
Candidates who have successfully applied and validated by the SAMS Odisha will have to wait for the Publication of the Provisional Allotment of Seats. If an applicant has accepted the allotted seats, SAMS gives an option to Float, Slide or Freeze the seat.
- Float - If an applicant wishes for a better Honours in accordance to his preference list in the same college or institution that is allotted, he can opt for the Float option.
- Slide - If an applicant wishes for a better Honours and a better college in accordance to his preference list, he can opt for Slide.
- Freeze - If the applicant is satisfied with the course and the college that he is allotted, he can Freeze the seat.
When a candidate has accepted the allotted seat irrespective of the above three options, he has to make the payment for the Admission Fee.
SAMS UG Admissions 2024: Admission Fee
Candidates applying for the UG courses will have to pay the admission fee through the SAMS portal during the e-admission process. After the applicant gets selected for a certain course in a college under SAMS, he/ she has to pay the admission fee online. Offline payment of the admission fee will not be entertained.
The amount to be paid as the admission fee will be displayed in the Student Login portal. If the applicant fails to make the payment of the admission fee, his/ her admission will be cancelled.
Document verification by HEI
If a candidate has not been allotted the seat in the first round, he has to wait for subsequent rounds of allotment. Applicants not willing to accept the allotted course or the college can also wait for the next round of allotment.
Candidates who are selected have to submit the intimation letter and get their original documents verified at the mentioned Higher Education Institution (HEI) On the date and time notified on the SAMS Student Portal.The List of DocumentsWhich need to be verified at the College/ Institution are as listed below:
a) Original Certificates (As per Intimation Letter)
b) Three passport size colour photographs.
c) Following Original Documents are to be retained by the HEI Authority:
- School/College Leaving Certificate issued by the Institution last attended
- Conduct Certificate issued by the Institution last attended
- Migration Certificate, if any
d) Following Original Documents are to be returned by the HEI Authority to the applicant after the admission process is over:
- 10th Board Certificate for verification of date of birth
- Mark sheet of the Higher Secondary (+2) Examination
- Pass Certificate of the same examination
