CTET 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the CTET exam in two sessions every year. The examination is conducted in around 135 cities across the country. Candidates interested in appearing for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test can now register online at ctet.nic.in. The official notification for CTET December 2024 session is also available at the official website.

The CTET exam is divided into two papers. While the CTET level 1 exam is for those candidates who wish to teach students of classes 1 to 5, whereas CTET level 2 is for candidates who aim to become teachers for classes 6 to 8. As per the CTET eligibility criteria, participating candidates must be at least 17 years old. Meanwhile, there is no minimum age to apply for CTET exam.

Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria will be able to register online for CBSE CTET examination. As per the official schedule released by CBSE, the last date to submit CTET application form was October 16, 2024. Applications are now closed. Registered candidates will be able to download their hall tickets for CTET December exam a few days before the examination date.

CTET Exam 2024: Overview

CTET 2024 is the teacher's eligibility test which aims to determine the eligibility of students and whether they are able to teach students in various government as well as private aided schools. Further, CTET is a national-level exam which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. 

In order to appear for the CTET exam, candidates must first check the eligibility criteria. Candidates can find the CTET eligibility on the official webiste inside the official notification. The CTET eligibility for Paper 1 is having a degree of senior secondary along with the Diploma in Elementary Education. Further, as per the CTET eligibility for Paper 2 candidate should have a graduation degree or should have qualified or appearing in the final year of the diploma exam in  Elementary Education.

CTET Eligibility 2024

Candidates who are preparing for the teacher eligibility exam should have the entire knowledge of CTET eligibility. The National Council for Teacher Education sets the eligibility for the candidate. The NCTE has prescribed the CTET eligibility criteria for CTET paper I and paper II which include the age limit, educational qualification, qualifying marks, and reservation norms.

1. Nationality: 

Candidates who are Indian citizens can appear for the CTET exam 2024 

2. CTET Age Limit: 

NCTE has prescribed the age limit for the CTET exam. As per the regulatory body, the minimum age limit for the exam is 18 years, whereas there is no maximum age limit for candidates to appear for the teacher eligibility test.

CTET Exam Pattern 2024

Central Board of Secondary Education prescribes the CTET exam pattern. The CTET exam consists of two papers - Paper I and Paper II and the CTET exam pattern lays down the structure of both papers including the number of questions asked in the exam. Apart from that, the exam pattern also consists of information on the marking scheme. 

Both the CTET paper I and paper II consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). One mark is given to each question, hence the CTET exam mark is 150. The paper does not have any negative marking for any wrong or unattempted answers. 

This time CTET exam will be conducted in CBT mode, and the questions will be conceptual. 

CTET Paper 1 Exam Pattern 2024

Candidates who wish to become teachers for classes 1 to 5 appear for the CTET paper I.  The paper will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions and candidates have to attempt the exam in 2.5 hours. CTET Paper II Exam Pattern

Candidates who intend to become teachers for classes 6 to 8 appear for the CTET paper II. Same as paper I, CTET paper II consists of 150 questions and each question is for one mark, which makes paper II of 150 marks. Below is the table highlighting the paper II pattern and marking scheme 2024:

CTET Syllabus 2024

CTET syllabus for paper 1 and paper 2 is outlined in the official notification released by CBSE. Students can make a preparation plan for the teacher eligibility exam based on the syllabus. The topic is common in both papers 1 and 2 and it is even compulsory to attempt. Candidates will be able to cover the topic of  Child Development and the Concept of Inclusive education.

In this subject, the topics are divided into two parts: One includes History, Geography, and Social & Political Life and the Second one includes Pedagogical issues. The ratio of questions will be 40:20 respectively.

There will be 20 questions from this section and the motive of this section will be to understand the candidate's intelligence and presence of mind for Pedagogical issues.

CTET Result 2024

CTET result 2024 will be released by the Central Board of Secondary Education soon. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check the results from the official website by logging in to their registered accounts using the roll number. The board will release the CTET result for both paper I and paper II together. 

Apart from the results, CBSE will also release the CTET scorecard on the official website. Before releasing the CTET results, CBSE will release the provisional answer key. Later, candidates will be given the opportunity to raise objects. Once the objections are raised, the board will evaluate those objections and a final answer key will be prepared. CTET's final answer key will be released along with the results.

CTET Cut Off 2024

CTET cut off refers to the minimum marks scored by a candidate and it will be released by the CBSE. Candidates should note that the cut-off for the teacher eligibility exam varies for different categories. 

Both CTET papers I and II are 150 marks and candidates who belong to the general category are required to score marks equal to or more than 90, whereas OBC/SC/ST category candidates need to score 82 out of 150 marks.
