NIT Delhi: Courses & Fees, Admission, Placements & Cutoffs

The National Institute of Technology, Delhi (NIT Delhi), a public engineering institute is located in New Delhi, India. The institute was established in 2010. NIT Delhi is ranked #45 in the engineering category by NIRF  Ranking 2024. The flagship course offered by NIT Delhi is B.Tech and M.Tech. 

NIT Delhi B.Tech admission mandates a Higher Secondary Certificate degree (10+2) with PCM/PBM with at least 75% marks. Later the allocation of the seats is made on the basis of the JEE Main score followed by the counselling process by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). In the academic year 2021-2022, the sanctioned intake of students under the UG programs by NIT Delhi was 710 (526 males and 184 females). NIT Delhi B.Tech tuition fee is INR 64,500 per semester. 

NIT Delhi admission for M.Tech mandates a bachelor's degree with a 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks (GEN/EWS/OBC category). On the other hand for SC/ST/PwD category candidates, a 6.0 CGPA or 55% marks is required. Candidates should also qualify a national-level exam like GATE after which seats will be allocated based on the GATE score followed by Centralised Counselling (CCMT). NIT Delhi M.Tech tuition fee is INR 35,000/semester (General/OBC). Whereas, SC/ST/PWD/PH candidates are exempted from paying the tuition fees. 

One of the most competitive specialisations in the B.Tech program is Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).  NIT Delhi's Opening and closing rank for CSE 2024 for Open-gender neutral category was 5545- 10950 (Home State) and (Other States)was 2438-7256 in round 3 as per JoSAA.

NIT Delhi admission to various courses is based on various qualifying national-level exams (JEE Main/GATE/CSIR-NET/UGC-NET/IIT JAM), followed by a counselling process (JoSSA/CCMT/CCMN). 

NIT Delhi B.Tech Admission 2025

NIT Delhi admission to four-year bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electrical Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), etc requires a HSC (10+2) degree with 75% marks along with a valid JEE Main score card. The dates for JEE Main 2025 are mentioned below:

NIT Delhi M.Tech Admission 2025

NIT Delhi admission to the two-year master’s program in both full-time and part-time modes mandates a bachelor’s degree with a 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks (GEN/EWS/OBC category). On the other hand for SC/ST/PwD category candidates, a 6.0 CGPA or 55% marks is required along with a valid GATE score card. This will be followed by Centralised Counselling (CCMT). The duration of the program is 2 years for full-time students and 3 years for part-time students. Interested candidates should follow the application process and fill out the form to avoid late fees. NIT Delhi Ph.D Admission 2025

NIT Delhi admission to the doctoral program in both full-time and part-time modes mandates a master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. Admission to the Ph.D. programs is based on a national-level examination score card (GATE/CSIR-NET/UGC-NET) followed by a personal interview. The duration of the program is 3 years (full-time) and 6 years (part-time).

NIT Delhi Cutoffs 2025

The JEE Main and GATE CCMT 2025 cutoffs has yet to release. After receiving the JEE Main score, candidates seeking admission to B.Tech courses will be called for the final counselling round. Whereas GATE-qualified candidates might be called for the final interview round. 

NIT Delhi B.Tech Cutoffs 2025

NTA had released the JEE Main 2024 cutoff. Computer Science and Engineering was the most competitive specialisation, with a closing rank of  9930 (for other states) and 4278 (for home state), followed by Artificial Intelligence and Data Science- 10,334 (other states) and 10091 (home state). • Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: Awarded to students who have demonstrated academic excellence and financial need. To apply students must submit an application form along with necessary documents. • National Scholarships: Awarded to students by the Government of India (GoI) who have scored proficient in their qualifying exams.
