MHT CET Exam 2026: The conducting body has started the MHT CET Registration 2026 on January 10, 2026, at cetcell.mahacet.org. The registration process for MHT CET 2026 exam will be held till February 12, 2026. The registration process is being conducted for PCM & PCB streams. Interested candidates must visit the official portal of MHT CET and complete their registration process after submitting the registration fees. 

The exam authority has increased MHT CET registration fee to INR 1,300 for general candidates. However, for reserved category and Pwd candidates, the application fee for the MHT CET 2026 exam is INR 1,000.

The CET Cell, in its latest notification, has announced that the Aadhar details and Aapar ID are mandatory for MHT CET Registration 2026. Without it, aspirants won't be able to fill out their application form. The exam authority announced the MHT CET Exam Dates 2026 on its official portal. For the PCM group, the session 1 exam is scheduled to be held from April 11 to 19, 2026, and the second session exam will be conducted from May 14 to 17, 2026. The first session examination for PCB 2026 will be conducted from April 21 to April 26, 2026, and the second session exam for PCB is set to be conducted from May 10 to 11, 2026. 

Aspiring students must be aware of the pattern and MHT CET syllabus 2026. The detailed syllabus will be released by the Common Entrance Test Cell along with the notification for both PCB and PCM aspirants. As per the MHT CET 2026 exam pattern, the total number of questions asked in the exam is 150, with a maximum marks being 200 marks. The duration of the exam is 3 hours.

MHT CET 2026: New Changes Announced

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test 2026 will now be held twice a year, starting from the academic year 2026-27. On the lines of JEE Main exam, the MHT CET Exam 2026 will be conducted in two different sessions- April and May. Applicants will have the option to appear for the second session in order to improve their scores. For students who take both attempts, the best of the two scores will be considered for admission.

  • Education Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/ IT/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies/ Technical Vocational subject in order to take admission to B.E/B.Tech course. For admission to pharmacy courses, the candidate must have Physics & Chemistry along with Biology or Mathematics.
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to apply for the exam.
  • Nationality: Students must be Indian citizens.

Once the application process is successfully completed, the conducting body will release the MHT CET 2026 Admit Card. The admit card is released a few days before the scheduled exam date. Candidates must note that the admit card is an important document that they must carry with them to the examination centre. The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra releases the answer key on its official website after the exam is successfully concluded. Candidates who appeared for the examination will be able to download the answer key and response sheet using their roll number and date of birth. It must be noted that the answer key released by the conducting body before the result will be provisional in nature. In other words, students can raise objections against the answer key if they are not satisfied with the answer provided in the answer key.

The MHT CET final answer key, however, is released along with the result. The final answer key is not objectionable, though.

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, will release the MHT CET result likely in June 2026. The result includes an overall percentile score as well as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subject-specific marks. MHT CET Result: Tie-Breaking Policy

In case of a tie in the MHT CET exam, the following tie-breaking policy is applied:

  • Applicants who scored better in the mathematics section of the MHT CET will be given priority.
  • Candidates with better MHT CET Physics scores will be given preferential precedence if the tie continues.
  • Candidates who scored better in Chemistry on the MHT CET will be given preferential precedence if the tie remains.
  • In the event of a tie, preference would be given to the applicant who received the highest percentage of marks in the Class 12 examination.
  • If there is still a tie, consideration will be given to the candidate who is older in age.

The MHT CET Counselling is conducted for those candidates who qualify the exam. The counselling process includes registration, document verification, choice filling & choice locking, seat allotment and payment of admission fees. The counselling process is conducted in three rounds and after the completion of each round, the State Common Entrance Test Cell releases the MHT CET cutoff 2026. The MHT CET counselling fee is Rs. 600 for applicants in the reserved category (SC, ST, VJ/DT-NT (A), NT-1 (B), NT-2(C), and NT-3(D), as well as OBC and SBC) and Rs. 800 for applicants in the general category.
