ATMA Exam 2026: Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) conducts the AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) for admission to various management programs such as MBA, PGDM, MCA, and PGDBA. The ATMA exam is conducted in computer-based mode at many test centres across the country. AIMS conducts the ATMA application process for each session separately on the official website. 

The official notification for the ATMA 2026 February session is expected in the first week of December 2025, with registration opening at the same time and closing in the last week of January 2026.

Before registering for the ATMA exam, candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria for appearing in the exam. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria can go ahead with the application process, which begins with paying the application fees first. After paying the application fee, candidates need to fill out the registration form. 

ATMA exam is an online aptitude test that evaluates three skills: analytical reasoning skills, quantitative skills and verbal skills. The exam which is designed in the format of multiple choice questions, has a negative marking of 0.25. The ATMA exam pattern consists of each skill having two sections allocated to it.

ATMA exam is an online aptitude test, conducted by AIMS and recognized by AICTE and the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The ATMA exam is a skill-based assessment that is accepted for admissions to many management institutes, including top colleges such as Christ University (Bangalore), Welingkar Institute of Management, and PUMBA Pune. AIMS has a membership of 560 postgraduate management institutes, and the scores are accepted by over 200 high-ranking management institutes. 

ATMA exam scores are released as percentile scores that determine the cut-off of the participating management institutes. ATMA cut off varies from institute to institute, and upon clearing the ATMA cut-off, candidates are required to appear for a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Candidates need to clear these further rounds to secure admission to several management courses such as MBA, PGDM, PDGBA, MCA.

ATMA 2026: Highlights

Candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria first in order to apply for the ATMA exam. Without fulfilling the ATMA eligibility criteria, candidates will not be able to apply for the exam. Once candidates meet the following eligibility parameters, they can register for the ATMA exam. 

  • Candidate needs to have scored at least 50% in their Bachelor’s degree
  • Candidate’s previous university must be UGC-recognised
  • Final year students are eligible to apply for the ATMA exam
  • Candidates who have completed CA can also apply for the ATMA exam

AIMS releases the ATMA application form on its official website. The ATMA application mode is online, and candidates can fill the application form which is available on the AIMS official website. The application process has several steps which begins with paying the application fee first.

After the online fee payment, candidates need to fill out the ATMA registration form by clicking on the exam registration link on the AIMS official website. The registration form includes uploading documents and filling in the particulars of the candidate. 

The ATMA Admit Card is released by AIMS on its official website. Candidates can download and print their admit card by entering their login credentials on the Candidate login page on AIMS official website. The admit card is a mandatory document that candidates are required to carry with themselves to the examination hall. Entry to the test centre will be denied to the candidates who are without the admit card. 

The admit card, an essential document, consists of various important details such as examination venue address, candidate’s roll number, test timing, reporting time, list of mandatory documents and prohibited items, and several other exam-based instructions. In order to download the admit card, candidates need to log in into the portal using their PID and password.

The ATMA syllabus is released on the AIMS official website. The syllabus consists of three skills- analytical reasoning skills, quantitative skills and verbal skills. In addition to the syllabus, it is important for candidates to be familiar with the ATMA exam pattern. The ATMA exam pattern consists of total number of questions, number of sections, marking scheme and exam duration. There is a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer. Candidates will receive 1 mark for every correct answer and 0.25 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. 

Each of the three skills has two sections dedicated to it, and there are a total of 6 sections.

AIMS releases the ATMA result in the form of a score report on its official website. The score report releases the percentile score for each of the three skills, and the total percentile score. 

ATMA Score Report

ATMA percentile score forms the basis of the cut off which is released by various management institutes. The cut off percentile generally varies between 70 to 95 percentile. Several top management colleges accept ATMA scores for admissions to their management programs. On the basis of the cut off released by the institution, the candidates can find out whether they are qualified for further admission rounds which are Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview(PI).
