JEE Main Registration 2026 (Closed): Session 2 Application Form, Registration Fees, Steps to Apply Online

JEE Main Registration 2026: NTA is again accepting the JEE Main 2026 registration for Session 2 till March 13, 2026 (up to 11:50 PM). The session 2 exam is likely to be held from April 2 to 9, 2026.

JEE Main Registration 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the JEE Main Session 2 Registration 2026 has been reopened due to several requests from students. Now, candidates can submit their application form for the JEE Main Session 2 exam till March 13, 2026 (up to 9 PM). Registered candidates will be allowed to submit their application fees till March 13, 2026 (up to 11:50 PM). The JEE Main 2026 Registration Link is available at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main 2026 form correction window was open from February 27 till February 28. The NTA activated the application form link for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Session 2 exam on February 1, 2026. JEE Main 2026 session 2 exam is scheduled from April 2 to 9, 2026. Only registered candidates can modify their details in the JEE Main Registration 2026 online. 

As per the JEE Main eligibility criteria, candidates who passed Class 12th in 2024, 2025, or who will take it in 2026 are eligible to register for the JEE Mains 2026 exam. If it is discovered that those who do not meet the eligibility criteria, their candidature will be rejected. The JEE Main registration fee for male and female General candidates is Rs 1000 and Rs 800, respectively. For candidates belonging to Gen-EWS/ OBC (NCL) category, the registration fee is INR 900 and INR 800 for male and female candidates, respectively. The JEE Main application fee for SC/ST/PWD/Transgender candidates is 500 INR. Aspiring candidates can apply for the JEE Main exam using three steps: a) Registration, b) Filling out the application form, c) Payment of the Application Fee.

JEE Main 2026 application form link for Session 2 exam has been activated at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can apply for the JEE Main Session 2 exam 2026 till February 25, 2026. Through the link provided below, aspirants can directly register and submit their application form. 

Aspirants involved in JEE Main 2026 Preparation must fulfil the eligibility requirements as set by NTA. The candidate will be disqualified from the exam if it is later determined that he or she is ineligible. JEE Main eligibility must be fulfilled by every candidate aspiring to take admission into the B.Tech, B.Arch, or B.Plan program. Filling out the JEE Main application form entails registering, entering personal and educational details, uploading scanned documents, and paying application fees. Aspirants can check the steps to complete the JEE Main registration 2026 here:

Registration

  • Visit the official JEE Main website at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  • Register for the online application form by providing the necessary details. 
  • Candidates must create a password and select a security question and answer.
  • After completing the personal information, an Application Number will be generated.

Note: An application number will be required for both sessions of JEE Main 2026. Candidates will be able to log in with their application number and password to continue.

Filling out Educational Details & Uploading Documents

  • Candidates who successfully registered can now log in to fill out the application form with their system-generated application number and password.
  • Candidates must fill in personal details, educational qualifications, upload scanned photographs and signatures, and the subject for which they are applying.

Note: Candidates should ensure that the uploaded photograph and signature are not blurred, as this will result in the application form being rejected. 

Payment of Application Fee

  • Once the application form is filled out, the last step is to pay the JEE Main registration fee.
  • Application fees can be paid online using any of the following methods: Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, or Paytm.
  • A confirmation page will be generated only after the application fee has been successfully paid.
  • Candidates should ensure that they save and print the Confirmation page.

Candidates who successfully filled out and submitted the application form are also eligible for JEE Main form correction 2026 before December 2 (11:50 PM). However, some details can and cannot be changed while form correction.

Details that can be changed

  • Candidate Name/Mother’s Name/Father’s Name: Candidates can make changes to either their Father’s names or their Mother’s name.
  • Date of Birth and Gender: Aadhar-Verified candidates are not allowed to change their date of birth and gender. However, non-Aadhar-verified candidates can change their date of birth and gender.
  • Category: Candidates can make changes in the category and re-upload the document against that.
  • Sub-Category: Candidates can make changes in the sub-category and re-upload the document against that.
  • Course: Yes, candidates can add or correct the selected course

After the final submission, candidates will be able to check the status of their JEE Main application form. To check the application status, follow the steps outlined below.

  • Select the "Registered Candidate Login" option.
  • Enter your application number and password to log in.

  • Before completing the Application Form, candidates must carefully read the information bulletin available on the NTA's official website.
  • It is not necessary to complete the application form all at once. Candidates may complete the three steps of the JEE Main Application Form at their own pace.
  • A valid email address and mobile phone number must be provided as these will be used to communicate any future information about JEE Main 2026.
  • The candidates' permanent and correspondence addresses must be correct, as the choice of examination Centres displayed to them will be based on this.

What are JEE Main Photo-size and signature specifications?

Candidates who are filling out the application form for JEE Main must keep in mind the specifications for uploading documents. Candidates can check the specifications for all documents that are required to be uploaded in the application form below:

  • Latest photographs should be in color or black & white with 80% of the face (without mask) visible including the ears.
  • Scanned photographs and signatures should be in JPG/JPEG format (clearly legible).
  • The size of the scanned photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible).
  • The size of the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb (clearly legible)
  • The size of the scanned copy of the Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS etc.) should be in pdf between 50kb to 300kb (clearly legible).
  • The size of the scanned copy of the PwD certificate should be in pdf between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible)

When will JEE Main session 2 application form opens?

JEE Main Session 2 registration 2026 will start tentatively in January/February 2026. 

What is JEE Main Session 1 registration date?

JEE Main Session 1 registration date is not announced yet. However, based on the past year dates, the JEE Main applications will start tentatively in November 2025.
