FMGE Exam 2024: Exam Dates, Admit Card, Exam Pattern, and Syllabus

FMGE Exam 2024: Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is a screening test for Indian citizens who hold a medical qualification from abroad and plan to practise medicine in India. Medical Graduates aspiring to get provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council can appear for the FMGE exam. FMGE exam is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) twice a year. 

Latest Updates:

• NBE has announced the FMGE result for December exam has been announced at nbe.edu.in. 
• FMGE exam 2024 for December session was conducted on January 12, 2025.      
• Candidates interested in appearing for the FMGE December exam can now register for the eligibility certificate at nmc.org.in.

In order to appear for the examination, candidates are required to fill the FMGE application form. Only the candidates who register for the FMGE exam will be eligible to download their FMGE admit card. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The FMGE admit card and a valid photo identity proof issued by the government are the two compulsory documents required for entry to the examination centre.  

FMGE Exam 2024

Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), a licensure exam, is conducted for candidates who hold medical degrees from another country and are aspiring to practise medicine in India. Medical graduates with a medical qualification from a foreign country must clear the FMGE exam to register themselves with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council.

The FMGE exam is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of 300 objective-type (multiple-choice) questions. There are no marks deducted for incorrect responses in FMGE exam. Candidates need to score a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 marks to clear the exam. FMGE is a qualifying examination and candidates who have qualified the exam cannot take the exam again.

FMGE Eligibility 2024 

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for the FMGE exam 2024 given below :

• Candidates should be Indian Citizen or Overseas Citizen of India. 
• Candidate needs to hold a primary medical qualification that has been confirmed by the respective Indian Embassy. 
• The result of the primary medical qualification should have been declared on or before April 30, 2024. 

FMGE Application Form 2024 

Filling the FMGE application form is the first step towards appearing for the FMGE examination. Candidates can check the steps to fill out the online application form given below : 

• Step 1: (New User Registration): Create your online profile to generate a User ID and Password
• Step 2: (Applicant Login): Login as an applicant using the User ID and Password and use the ‘go to application’ link
• Step 3: Fill all the required fields in the application form
• Step 4: Make any necessary corrections once the preview of the application form is displayed
• Step 5: Submit the application form and pay the application fee

FMGE Admit Card 2024 

FMGE Admit Card will be issued to eligible candidates after they have registered for the exam. Candidates will be notified through SMS/Email and official website notice regarding the release of admit cards on the NBEMS website. The admit card will not be sent by post or email. It is mandatory for candidates to carry the admit card and a valid photo identification proof to the test centre. 

Candidates need to download the FMGE admit card from the NBEMS official website and affix their latest passport-size photograph (not more than 3 months old) in the space provided on the admit card. Candidates need to check the details printed on the admit card carefully and ensure the accuracy of the information given on admit card. 

FMGE Exam Pattern 2024

• The FMGE exam is a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
• The exam consists of 300 multiple-choice questions. 
• There are 4 response options given for each question in English language only.
• Candidates need to select one correct response from the 4 options given.
• The exam is delivered in two parts with each part consisting of 150 questions to be attempted in 150 minutes. 
• There is no negative marking in the exam.

FMGE Result 2024

The FMGE result 2024 will be issued on the official website of NBEMS. Candidates can download the scorecard from the official website using their login credentials. In case of any discrepancy found in the scorecard, candidates should report it to the authorities immediately.
