The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will release the CBSE Class 10 Phase 2nd Exam Result 2026 by the end of June 2026. The board had earlier declared the CBSE Class 12th Result 2026 on May 13, 2026, on its official website, results.cbse.nic.in. Students can check their CBSE class 12th results through platforms such as DigiLocker and the Umang app. However, some CBSE students are unhappy with the newly introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) digital evaluation system. 

What is the CBSE Class 12 OSM row?

The CBSE OSM (On-Screen Marking) controversy of 2026 arose after the board introduced a digital evaluation system for Class 12 answer sheets. Many students reported issues such as blurred scans, missing pages, answer-sheet mismatches, and unexpectedly low marks. Moreover, concerns also emerged about cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the OSM portal, with reports suggesting that unauthorised access and mark manipulation might have been possible. The controversy led to protests by students and parents.

CBSE conducted the re-evaluation and verification window from June 2 to June 7, 2026. The board authority has shared the revised results of the majority of students who applied for the re-valuation process on June 21, 2026, while for others, the results will be announced soon. The CBSE Class 12 supplementary exam 2026 will be held on July 15, 2026.

The CBSE board results 2026 are declared on the official websites. Until last year, the board announced the CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Results 2026 on the same day. However, this year, the results will be out on different dates. Students can check and download their scores from the official websites - cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in.

CBSE conducted the Class 10 board exams twice this year, where appearing for the exam 1, held between February and March, was compulsory. Those who wish to improve their marks can appear for the CBSE Class 10 exam 2 in May. These students will have the option to reattempt up to three subjects from science, mathematics, social science, and languages. 

Once the CBSE result 2026 is out, students will have access to their CBSE board provisional marksheet with their login credentials, such as roll number, school number, admit card ID, and date of birth, etc, on the official websites and DigiLocker.

Last year, over 44 lakh students appeared for their CBSE exams. Of them, as many as 24.12 lakh had appeared for CBSE Class 10, and 16,92,794 students sat for the CBSE Class 12 exam. Last year, the overall pass percentage for the CBSE Class 12 result was 88.39%, a minor increase from 2024's 87.98%. Similarly, of the 23,71,939 students who appeared for the Class 10 CBSE exams across 84 subjects, 22,21,636 students passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 93.66% for the year.
