NEET PG 2026: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will release the official notification regarding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2026 on its official website - nbe.edu.in. The NEET PG exam is conducted in Computer-Based Test mode, in a single shift. Last year, the NEET PG exam was held on August 3, 2025, in a single shift. The board released the NEET PG result 2025 on August 19, 2025.

To appear for the NEET PG 2026 exam, candidates must know the NEET PG eligibility criteria. The NEET PG application form 2026 will involve steps such as registration, filling in details in the application form, uploading documents, and paying the registration fee. NEET PG Exam 2026

NEET PG is a competitive examination for those candidates who wish to pursue their post-graduation career in the field of medicine. Candidates can get admission to MD/MS courses after qualifying for the exam. The exam is conducted once a year and takes place online. Candidates can also use the NEET PG scores to take admission to postgraduate MBBS DNB courses. 

The NEET PG exam is 3.5 hours long, and the question paper consists of 200 questions. Each question carries 4 marks, making the total marks 800. Meanwhile, one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences will announce the complete exam schedule for NEET PG 2026 soon on its official website. The same will be updated in the table below.

Meanwhile, candidates can check last year's date as announced by the National Board of Examinations in the official notification and the later revised dates.

The NEET PG eligibility requirements are released by the NBE in its official brochure. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for NEET PG below:

  • Candidates must hold a recognised MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate in accordance with the provisions of the 1956 Indian Medical Council Act.
  • Additionally, candidates must have a permanent/provisional registration certificate of an MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or the State Medical Council
  • Candidates must have completed their internship by July 31, 2026, or earlier.

NBEMS releases the NEET PG application form on the official website. Last year, the registration for NEET PG was conducted from April 17 to May 7, 2025. The NEET PG 2026 application forms are expected in April 2026. Once candidates have submitted their applications, they will get a login ID and password. Candidates are required to fill in the following details in the NEET PG application form:

NBEMS releases the NEET PG admit card on the official website - nbe.edu.in. Candidates are required to download their hall ticket and check all the information mentioned on it carefully. Moreover, candidates have to carry the NEET PG hall ticket along with them to the examination venue. Without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination venue. NBEMS releases the NEET PG syllabus on the official website, nbe.edu.in. The syllabus is designed according to the Graduate Medical Education Regulations given by the Medical Council of India. The NEET PG syllabus is divided into three sections, including Pre-Clinical, Para-Clinical, and Clinical. The three sections are further bifurcated into various topics, including Pathology, Anatomy, Psychiatry, etc. 

The NEET PG exam pattern is designed by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. The exam pattern consists of exam structure, the number of questions asked, and the different languages in which a candidate can attempt the exam.

As per the latest NEET PG pattern, the exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions, and each question is worth 4 marks. With this, the total marks of the NEET exam are 800. Negative marking is applicable in the NEET PG exam. 

The National Board of Examinations releases the NEET PG result on its official website. The result is declared in the form of a merit list. The scorecards for NEET PG are released a few weeks after the result is announced. Candidates will be able to download their NEET PG scorecards using their login credentials at nbe.edu.in. 

Along with the result, NBE will also release the NEET PG cut-off. Candidates securing marks above the minimum cut-off score will be eligible for the NEET PG counselling process. The cut-off is released separately for each category of candidates. 

Based on NEET PG results, a merit list is prepared by the NBE. As per this, the seat allotment process is held. Candidates get the highly preferred college if they have a higher position on the merit list. On the basis of various factors, the NBE prepares the merit list. Take a look here:
