CSIR NET 2024: Exam Dates, Registration, Admit Card, Syllabus, Exam Pattern

CSIR NET 2024: The National Testing Agency conducts the CSIR NET exam every year in online mode. The test aims to identify candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor programmes, and assess their qualifications for teaching roles in Indian educational institutions.

• The result for CSIR NET exam is going to be announced soon at csirnet.nta.ac.in. 
• NTA  released the provisional answer key for CSIR NET exam on March 11, 2025. The answer key objection window remained open till March 14, 2025. 
• The National Testing Agency successfully conducted the CSIR NET December 2024 exams from February 28 to March 2, 2025.
• The CSIR NET admit card was released on February 25, 2025 at csirnet.nta.ac.in.
• The NTA issued the CSIR NET advance city intimation slip for all exams on February 19, 2025.

To appear for the exam, candidates must have registered themselves using the CSIR NET application form. However, before that, candidates must check the CSIR NET eligibility laid out by UGC. One those candidates who have successfully filled the application will be eligible to download their admit cards.

CSIR NET Eligibility 2024

Before filling out the application form, candidates first need to check the CSIR NET eligibility criteria for the exam. CSIR NET Application Form 2024

The second step towards appearing for the CSIR NET exam is to fill the CSIR NET application form 2024. The application form is made available on the official website and the mode of the application form is online. Since the official notification regarding the examination has already been released, the application form dates are also announced. 

Application Fees for CSIR NET 2024 

Once the candidate has filled the application form, then they are required to pay the described application fees to complete the process. However, candidates must note that the application fees are different for candidates belonging to different categories. CSIR NET Admit Card 2024

Once the candidate has successfully filled the application form, then he or she is liable to get their hall tickets. The NTA releases the CSIR NET admit card on the official website.  National Testing Agency releases the CSIR NET admit card on the official website. Candidates must know that the admit card will be issued to the candidate provisionally and the document is subject to satisfying the eligibility conditions.

In order to download the admit card, candidates need to visit CSIR NET login and use their valid registration number and password which they will receive during the time of registration. Since the CSIR NET admit card is an essential document, candidates need to bring it to the exam centre or else they will not be allowed to enter the exam hall. 

CSIR NET Syllabus 2024

The CSIR NET syllabus is laid out by the CSIR-HRDG (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research's Human Resource Development Group). The syllabus is released on the official website and candidates are required to check the official notification as the syllabus will be mentioned in it.  Candidates must know that there are 5 subjects in the CSIR NET syllabus including chemical sciences, earth atmospheric, ocean and planetary sciences, life sciences, mathematical sciences and physical sciences. Further, the syllabus is bifurcated into 3 parts such as Part A, B and C and all three parts will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions.

CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2024

The CSIR NET exam pattern 2024 is released by the National Testing Agency. The CSIR NET exam pattern is released along with the official notification. The main aim of the exam pattern is to shed light on topics such as the duration of the examination, total marks, total questions and other information. 

Candidates must note that as per the CSIR NET exam pattern, the examination will be held in the CBT (Computer Based Test) mode and the duration of the examination will be three hours. The exam pattern will consist of MCQ format questions and there will be a total of 120 questions and each question will carry 2 marks. Which makes the CSIR NET 2024 total mark as 200.

CSIR NET Result 2024

Usually, the CSIR NET result 2024 is released about a month after the commencement of the examination. Before releasing the result, the NTA releases the CSIR NET provisional answer key. There are two types of answer keys. While the first one is the CSIR NET 2024 provisional answer key which allows candidates to raise objections, the second answer key is the CSIR NET 2024 final answer key which helps the candidates to calculate scores in the examination. 

The CSIR NET result 2024 will be released on the official website in PDF form. In order to check the result, candidates need to enter their roll number, date of birth as well as captcha code. 

CSIR NET Cut Off 2024

The CSIR NET cutoff is released by the National Testing Agency along with the declaration of result.  The CSIR NET cut off 2024 refers to the minimum marks that a candidate needs to score in order to qualify for the examination. NTA releases CSIR NET 2024 subject-wise cut off. Apart from being the subject-wise cut-off, the cut-off will also vary for students who belong to different categories.

Candidates who ace the JRF test will be ranked in a merit list and then allotted between CSIR and UGC in the ratio of a bunch of fellowships that are provided between these two for specific subjects. In addition, a merit list will be created depending on the candidate's performance. With the help of the CSIR NET cut-off, candidates will be able to check whether they have qualified for the examination or not.

CSIR NET 2024 Certificate Validity

Once the candidate has cleared the CSIR NET examination, candidates will get the CSIR NET certificate. The validity of the CSIR NET certificate is set by CSIR-HRDG for 2 years. This means candidates can utilise the CSIR NET certificate for 2 years.
