What is the JEE Main Percentile Score?
The percentile score is based on the relative performance of all exam takers. The score will be calculated after converting the scores for each session of examinees onto a scale ranging from 100 to 0. As a result, the topper (highest score) of each session receives the same percentile of 100, which is ideal. The marks achieved between the top and lowest scores are also translated to relevant percentiles.
How is the JEE Main Percentile Score is Calculated?
The NTA determined the JEE Main result using a normalization procedure. Because the test was taken across several days and sessions, some applicants may receive a simple paper while others must face more difficult questions in the JEE Main exam. To ensure that no aspirant gains or suffers as a result of this, the normalization procedure is used to determine JEE Main results and rankings. NTA will rank candidates based on their exam percentile score. This percentile score will be computed using a set formula:
Percentile Score
|
Percentile Formula
|
Physics Percentile (P1P)
|
(100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than P1 score in Physics) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session
|
Chemistry Percentile (C1P)
|
(100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than C1 score in Chemistry) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session
|
Mathematics Percentile (M1P)
|
(100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than M1 score in Mathematics) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session
|
Total Percentile (T1P)
|
(100 x No. of candidates from the session with a raw score equal to or less than T1 score) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session

JEE Main 2024 Final Result
Because JEE Main 2023 is split into two sessions, the final JEE Main 2023 result is issued after the completion of the second session. NTA integrates the percentile scores collected in all sessions for the JEE Main 2023 final result and assigns AIR to the students accordingly.
If a candidate took JEE Main in both June and July, the highest score from both sessions was utilized to determine the All India Rank. The final JEE Main result includes information regarding the candidate's All India Rank and the JEE Advanced 2022 cut-off score.
The JEE Main final result contains the following details:
- Total marks acquired in the JEE Main attempt (June/July)
- If a candidate appears in both phases, the best of the two JEE Main results will be used.
- All India Rank
- JEE Main cutoff for JEE Advanced exam.
JEE Main Counselling 2024
- After announcing the JEE Main result 2024, NTA will submit the JEE Main result details to the JoSAA and CSAB for the admission procedure.
- The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be in charge of JEE Main 2024 Counselling for admission to NITs, GFTIs, IITs, and IIITs. After each round of counselling, JoSAA will reveal the opening and closing ranks.
- Online registration, option filling and locking, mock allotment, final seat allotment outcome, and reporting at the designated institution are all part of the JoSAA counselling procedure. To participate in counselling, JEE Main qualifying applicants must register on the official JoSAA website. The website link will be active shortly after the announcement of the JEE Main 2024 results.
- CSAB NEUT counselling will be held for supernumerary seats in the North East and Union Territories. The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will also hold a separate counselling procedure for admission to 18 SFTIs called CSAB SFTI Counselling.
JEE Main 2024 Cutoff
NTA publishes the JEE Main 2023 Cut off along with the results of the previous session. JEE Main cut-off percentage is the minimum qualifying percentage for taking the JEE Advanced exam for admission to IITs. After each round of counselling for admission to NITs, IITs, and GFTIs, JoSAA publishes admission cut-offs in the form of opening and closing ranks. Meanwhile, aspirants can check JEE Main previous year cutoff:
