NIT Andhra Pradesh: Admission, Placement and Infrastructure

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Andhra Pradesh, established in the academic year 2015-16, is one of the recently created NIT. It is the 31st institution in the chain of NITs started by the Government of India. The NIT Andhra Pradesh is located in Tadepalligudem near Chennai-Kolkata Highway (NH 16). The NIT Andhra Pradesh has started running from its 172.6 acres of the  permanent campus located in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

NIT Andhra Pradesh offers a number of undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes. BTech is the institution’s flagship course with 8 specialisations. NIT Andhra Pradesh admission process is in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The admissions at the institute is carried out in the same way as that of other NITs. 

The NIT Andhra Pradesh Placement for the year 2023 has been concluded successfully. However, the institution has not released any detailed report on it officially. The highest package offered at NIT Andhra in the placement session 2023 was INR 44 LPA. The average package in the same year was INR 8.13 LPA.

• The application for JoSAA counselling will start on June 10, 2024. The last date to apply for the BTech admission at NIT Andhra is June 18, 2024.
• The CCMT 2024 application window will close on June 7, 2024. 
• The last date for the application for the PhD programme was May 31, 2024.

NIT Andhra Pradesh Admission 2024

NIT Andhra Pradesh BTech admission is based on the JEE Main 2024 scores. Candidates who wish to get admitted to NIT Andhra have to apply online for the JOSAA counselling. It is also mandatory for the applicants to have a pass certificate of HSC 10+2 and the JEE MAin score as per the cutoff announced in the JoSAA counselling. The MTech degree is also available in the 8 specialisations at NIT Andhra Pradesh. A valid Gate score and counselling through CCMT 2024 is mandatory for the admission to the masters programme. 

The NIT at Tadepalligudem has recently launched a number of courses in MS(by research). The minimum eligibility for this PG programme is a bachelor’s degree in technology or engineering. The PhD programme offered at the NIT is both full time and part time. Candidates willing to apply for the doctoral programme should have a masters degree in the relevant subject. Scores of GATE/ CSIR/ UGC NET is also mandatory for the PhD admissions in many departments.

NIT Andhra Pradesh Placement 2024

As per the latest NIRF report, 268 UG and 15 PG students were placed in the placement year 2022-23. The NIT Andhra Pradesh has a separate placement cell which ensures that every student gets the duly necessary assistance in the placement process. The highest CTC offered in the placement session 2023 was INR 44 LPA. The main highlights of the recent placements at NIT Andhra Pradesh are as given in the table below.

NIT Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure

NIT Andhra Pradesh has its newly constructed campus of 172.6 acres in the West Godavari district of the state of Andhra Pradesh.The construction work for the phase 1A buildings is completed. This phase includes Academic and laboratory buildings, hostels, faculty and staff quarters etc. The construction work for phase 1B is almost completed.

The NIT has a well equipped central library which has around 15000 books in circulation. The library also has all the necessary periodicals including more than 30 journals and 32 magazines. It is well connected through LAN and Wi-fi and has an open access to e-resources.

The institute also boasts about numerous sports facilities provided to its students. The NIT Andhra has two badminton courts, one cemented basketball court, one cricket ground, one football ground, three volleyball courts and yoga facilities for students.
