JEE Advanced 2024 Exam

JEE Advanced 2024: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will conduct the JEE Advanced 2024 exam in online mode on May 26, 2024. The JEE Advanced application form has been released on April 27, 2024 and will be closed on May 7, 2024. To apply for the JEE Advanced exam, candidates must clear the JEE Main 2024 exam and be among the top 2,50,000 students. Additionally, students must pass Class XII with an aggregate of at least 75% to be eligible for the exam. However, reserved category students must have a minimum of 65% to fulfil the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria

JEE Advanced Result 2024 will be released on June 9, 2024. Candidates who pass the JEE Advanced exam are eligible for admission to IITs.

Last year, IIT Guwahati revised the JEE Advanced syllabus and students are expected to study according to the amended curriculum. It's crucial that students study from NCERTs in order to cover the revised syllabus and have a thorough understanding of the exam. Solving JEE Advanced previous year question papers is a prerequisite for success in your preparation.

According to the JEE Advanced exam pattern 2024, there will be two papers: Paper I & Paper II. Both papers will be conducted on the same day and their duration will be 3 hours each. The questions in both papers will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There will be different types of questions in the paper including Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), Paragraph Questions, and Numeric Questions. It is to be noted that the exam pattern for JEE Advanced 2024 exam is subject to change every year which is upon the discretion of the exam conducting institute.

JEE Advanced 2024 Exam

The JEE Advanced 2024 exam is conducted for those top 2,50,000 candidates who qualified the JEE Main 2024 exam and wish to take admission into engineering programmes offered by IITs. The exam is conducted by seven IITs on a rotational basis. These seven IITs are IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, IIT Madras, and IIT Kanpur.

JEE Advanced 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the JEE Advanced 2024 eligibility criteria on the official website. Aspirants are required to go through the detailed eligibility criteria to make sure they fulfil each one of them. Students failing to meet the eligibility requirements will be debarred from the examination process.

  • Candidates must have scored 75% in their Class 12
  • Candidates from SC/ST/Pwd category must have scored 65% in their Class 12.
  • They must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics

Age Limit

  • Candidates from General & OBC category must have been born on or after October 1998.
  • Candidates from SC/ST/Pwd category will be given the age relaxation of five years.

JEE Main Rank

  • Candidates will be eligible for JEE Advanced only if they have secured a rank under top 2,50,000 in the JEE Main exam.

Number of Attempts

  • Candidates can appear for the exam for a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

JEE Advanced Admit Card 2024

The JEE Advanced admit card will be released only for those candidates who have successfully filled out the application form. The admit card will be available a few days before the exam. It should be noted that admit card is a mandatory document to carry to the examination centre, failing which candidates will not be allowed to take the exam.

After downloading the admit card, students must also check the details mentioned on their admit card. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate must report to the concerned authority immediately. Following are the details that need to be checked in the admit card:

JEE Advanced 2024 Answer Key

After the conclusion of both papers of the JEE Advanced exam, the conducting authority will release the provisional answer key. Students who took the examination will be given the opportunity to challenge the answer key in case of any objection from their end. After all the objections raised by candidates are resolved, the final answer key will be released. Along with the final answer key, JEE Advanced results will also be released. 

JEE Advanced 2024 Result

The JEE Advanced result will be released likely in June 2024. Candidates who will receive a rank will be contacted for JoSAA counselling after the results are revealed. The result is made public as a scorecard. The JEE Advanced scorecard includes information like the Common Rank List (CRL), the applicants' individual subject-wise scores, and their combined marks from Papers I and II. All India Rank (AIR) will also be included on the scorecard.

JEE Advanced 2024 Cutoff

The JEE Advanced cutoff is released by the conducting body. The cutoff is released for every category and contains the minimum marks in each subject and the minimum aggregate marks required by candidates to score. However, this is only the qualifying cutoff for the exam. The JEE Advanced admission cutoff is released in the form of opening and closing ranks based on which colleges will be allotted to selected candidates.
