Amrita University: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (often known as Amrita University) is a private deemed university based in Coimbatore, India. With its headquarters in Ettimadai, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, the institution now includes 7 campuses and 16 constituent schools spread across the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. The institution was established when Mata Amritanandamayi Devi inaugurated the Amrita School of Engineering in Coimbatore in 1994. It is now run by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, her global humanitarian organization. It was one of the youngest institutions to receive the UGC's accreditation with grade A as a deemed-to-be university in 2003.

The NABH has approved Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences for accreditation. Amrita is the first university teaching hospital in the nation to receive NABH accreditation. Additionally, the medical institute has received NABL certification for all of its laboratories. The institute is also ranked 9th by NIRF Ranking 2025 in the medical category.

According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2025, Amrita is now the 9th-best university in the country under the medical category and 8th best in the university category.  Amrita has been placed among the Top 50 institutions in the world in THE University Impact Rankings 2022, a trailblazing project to recognise institutions around the world for their impact on society and economy for a brighter development. Currently, 207 undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, integrated, dual-degree, and certification programmes in engineering, management, humanities and the social sciences, medicine, and the life sciences are available through AVV. The three most popular courses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are BTech, MTech, and MBA. Candidates for the BTech programme are required to take the JEE Main or AEEE entrance test. GATE/PGCET/TANCET/PGECET results are used to determine admission to the MTech programme. MBA admissions are evaluated based on CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, GMAT, and GRE marks. The CAT 2025 examination is scheduled to be conducted on November 30, 2025.

Every year, the university's placement cell holds a placement session for every batch of students. Over 200 companies participated during the placement drive 2022 held by Amrita University. Several of the top employers were Amazon, Microsoft, and Intel. Recruiters came from a range of industries, including marketing, production, and Technology. The Product Development industry has the most recruiters out of all the industries. The highest package offered to any student was 56.95 LPA with an average of 5.8 LPA.

The nearest Coimbatore International Airport is 30 kilometers distant, and the nearest railway station is only one kilometer away. AVV Coimbatore Scholarship

The institute offers scholarships to engineering students based on guidelines of AICTE. The scholarship details are given below:

• Scholarships are available to both GATE and non-GATE students.
• AICTE has authorized all of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's M. Tech. programs for GATE scholarships. GATE-qualifying applicants are all eligible for a Post Graduate Scholarship of Rs. 12,400/- each month.
• Students who have not taken the GATE test are eligible to apply for merit or endowment scholarships offered for different programs.
• Endowment Scholarship is available for 10 programs (Scholarships will be awarded to the top 40% of qualified students in "each" program.)
• MERIT Scholarships are applicable for 25 programs or (the top 30% of qualified students in "each" program will be awarded a scholarship).
