MNNIT or NIT Allahabad, also known as the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, was founded in 1961. The institution was founded as a Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College and holds the distinction of being the first institution in India to provide a UG-level curriculum in computer science and engineering. The college is a Quality Improvement Program centre, according to the AICTE. In 2007, the organization received the designation of Institute of National Importance. The institution is ranked #49 among the best engineering institutions in India according to NIRF Ranking 2023. The Institute, nevertheless, was rated #10 in the ARIIA ranking for 2021.

NIT Allahabad fees for its flagship B.Tech program is approximately INR 7,50,000. For students in need, the institution also provides scholarships and financial help. Students from SC/ST backgrounds or with annual incomes below 1 lakh are eligible for a 100% tuition fee remission. Similar to this, students whose families earn between INR 1 and INR 5 lakh annually receive a 2/3 tuition fee remission.

NIT Allahabad Location

The institute is located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, in Prayagraj, Allahabad. It is a developed city which is well connected to other locations through a railway line, airport, and even bus services. The domestic airport of the city, Bamrauli Airport, is connected to the major airports like IGI Airport and others. Students can take a flight to Bamruli to reach the institute, or take a train to Allahabad City Railway Station which is merely 8 kms away from the campus. If considering bus services, students should note that the Civil Lines bus station is the nearest to the institute, being only 6 kms away.

NIT Allahabad Courses 

NIT Allahabad offers B.Tech program at UG level and M.Tech, MSc, MBA & MCA programs at PG level. It also offers PhD programs in different specializations at doctoral level. The B.Tech program is offered in 9 specializations (CS, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Bio-Technology, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, IT, Production & Industrial) for which admission is done on the basis of JEE Main scores. For admission to PG programs, the institute takes into account the GATE, IIT JAM, CAT, and NIMCET test scores. Every year, the Institute admits more than 200 students to its postgraduate programs and close to 900 students to its undergraduate programs.

• Eligible candidates need to sit for and obtain a valid score in JEE Main

• Eligible candidates need to sit for and obtain a valid score in NIMCET
• Shortlisted students will have to sit in the counseling process and choose NIT Allahabad as their preferred institute

NIT Allahabad MBA Admission Process

• Eligible students need to register and appear for CAT
• Students with a valid CAT score need to fill the application form of NIT Allahabad

NIT Allahabad Placements

NIT Allahabad placement 2022 was a huge success, with the highest package for the B.Tech program setting a new record of INR 1.18 crore per annum. In all, out of 805 eligible students who participated in the B.Tech placement drive, 768 students were placed in reputed companies. Moreover, for MCA and M.Tech programs, the highest salaries were INR 44.5 LPA and INR 33.88 LPA.

NIT Allahabad Facilities

The 222-acre NIT Allahabad campus is home to a number of amenities for its personnel and students. There are now 5167 students enrolled at the institute, and around 300 academic staff members. Numerous support services are provided for the students and teachers, including:

Hostels- The campus comprises two girls' hostels and seven hostels for males, each having a capacity for 1800 students and 145. Allocation of rooms is done in a way that students from all over the country get to mingle and feel comfortable with each other. Attached mess in all hostel blocks is included, along with other services like water, furniture, washing machines, refrigerators, computers, internet connectivity etc.

Library-  A library with a total book collection of more than 1.2 lakh is provided to all students and faculty members to fuel their academic and research needs. It also has 4526 e-journals, and 29508 conference papers with stacks of accessories and reading materials. 

Transportation- Students are provided with transportation services to go from or come to the institute from anywhere in the city. This service is provided at a very subsidized rate.

Banking services- The campus has various ATMs and other banking facilities for monetary transactions and other such services.

Sports- A sports complex is provided to the students along with a well equipped gym.

Canteen- The Institute campus has eating outlets that serve food and cafeteria items at reasonable prices that students can easily afford. The outlet is managed by :
