What's New in GMAT: The official prep for the GMAT Focus Edition is now available on the official website. The prep was made public in late Q2 of 2023 (i.e., at the end of June 2023). Registration for the GMAT Focus Edition will start on August 27th 2023. Additionally, GMAT Focus Edition testing is expected to start in Q4 of 2023 (i.e., starting in October 2023).
GMAT Dates 2023: GMAT gives candidates the flexibility to choose the test date and location according to their preference. Unlike most competitive exams like JEE or CAT, the GMAT can be given any time of the year at any time of the day. Although, if the candidate has chosen to give the test at a GMAT centre, he/she will have to check the availability of slots in specific test centres.

To avoid any last-minute errors, it is best to choose a date 3 to 4 months prior to the application deadline. Having said that, candidates can pick the GMAT date that is most convenient to them and aligns with their level of GMAT preparation.
GMAT Dates 2023
GMAT dates for the year 2023 can be checked on the official website (MBA.com) The dates have been released according to the availability of slots at various test centres.
Students can take the GMAT examination a maximum of 5 times a year, and up to 8 times in their lifetime. Moreover, GMAC has made it mandatory to wait 16 days before retaking the GMAT exam. To schedule the test on a specific day, one must make an appointment at the specified test centres.
Giving the test online in the comfort of your home is also a widely recognized option that is provided by GMAC, although, it is not recommended to opt for this alternative. In a recent wave - many schools, American Universities being one of them, have put an end to accepting at-home GMAT scores.
GMAT Test 2023: When Should You Take GMAT?
As mentioned earlier, the GMAT exam can be taken anytime throughout the year depending on the candidate’s level of preparation and available slots. There are various factors that determine the right time to decide on the GMAT exam date. Some of these factors are:
- Which B-schools are you targeting?
- Which admission round are you targeting for your preferred B-school?
- What is the application deadline for that particular round?
- Your level of preparation and confidence

GMAT Test 2023: How To Cancel the GMAT Exam?
Sometimes, due to unpredictable circumstances, candidates may want to cancel or reschedule their specific GMAT exam slot. This is why GMAC provides the option of rescheduling your exam. Although, it charges a cancellation fee and a rescheduling fee.
If you wish to cancel your GMAT exam, you must log in to your existing mba.com account. Once the candidate is signed in, he/she will have to go to the ‘exams’ section and look up the slot they desire to cancel. After clicking on the cancellation option and paying the cancellation fee, your GMAT exam will stand cancelled.

GMAT Test 2023: How To Reschedule GMAT Exam?
If the candidate wants to reschedule the exam instead of cancelling it, they will need to follow a similar procedure. You can reschedule or cancel your GMAT exam up to 72 hours prior to your appointment start time by clicking the ‘Reschedule’ button on the “My Account” page on mba.com. It will hardly take 15 minutes once the candidate has logged into their specific mba.com account and clicked on the “exam” section. The applicant must search for the appointment they desire to reschedule. There, they will see the "reschedule" and "cancel" options; they must choose the appropriate one.
After selecting the reschedule option, the candidate will be asked about the new slot they wish to book and if they want to change the test centre as well. The process will be completed once you click the ‘complete reschedule’ button.
