MAT Exam Pattern 2025: Section Wise Details, Weightage, Marking Scheme

MAT Exam Pattern 2025: All India Management Association (AIMA) has released the official exam pattern for MAT exam 2025. Interested candidates can visit the official website, mat.aima.in, and download the exam pattern PDF. 

MAT 2025 for February session is all set to take place in March 2025. The Management Aptitude Test takes place four times in one year. Candidates can get themselves registered by visiting the official website for the exam. The MAT exam is conducted in three modes: online, offline, and remote internet based. All three modes follow the same exam pattern. 

The pattern is designed by AIMA following the official MAT syllabus 2025. The test paper is divided into five sections: Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, and Indian and Global Environment. The exam pattern will help the students prepare for their exam according to each subject.

The MAT test paper is designed to contain 200 questions. The test paper is divided into five different sections. Given below are the sections and the number of questions allotted to each section in the MAT test paper. 

MAT Exam Pattern 2025: Marking Scheme

The marking scheme for MAT is important for every candidate. Here is how the marking scheme is designed for MAT 2025:

• Each section carries 40 questions
• Each question carries 1 mark each
• Negative marking is applicable; for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted
• Marks will not be deducted for questions left unanswered
• The marking scheme is same for all three modes of exam

MAT Exam Pattern 2025: Section wise details

The MAT test paper is divided into five sections. Here is what all the five sections carry in the examination:

Intelligence and Critical Reasoning: This section contains all the logical reasoning and analytical questions such as patterns, family trees, puzzles, graphs, statements, blood relations, series, graphs, and other such topics. 

Language Comprehension: This section is based on English language comprehension. It mainly contains two sections including reading comprehension and verbal ability. Candidates will find questions like phrases, complete the sentences, vocabulary, fill in the blanks, and questions related to basic English grammar. 

Mathematical Skills: The mathematical section consists of questions related to geometry, algebra, modern mathematics, mensuration, profit and loss, percentage, probability, and trigonometry. 

Data Analysis and Sufficiency: This section mainly deals with all the graph-related questions. It includes bar graphs, pie charts, case studies, data comparison, data analysis, and line graphs. 

Indian and Global Environment: This section deals with everything related to current affairs in the country and around the world. This includes national and international news, political affairs, sports, entertainment, and general knowledge.
