GATE Marks Vs Scores Vs Rank
Candidates taking the GATE examination in 2023 should be aware that GATE marks, scores, and ranks vary from one another. The GATE marks are the candidates' marks out of a maximum 100. The GATE scores, on the other hand, are determined using a normalising method and are scaled out of 1000. Candidates are given a GATE rank depending on their scores (i.e after normalisation).
GATE Score Normalisation
GATE 2023 will be held in numerous sittings, thus there will be some uncertain components like the number of students present, level of difficulty, and weightage assigned to any particular topic. Consequently, normalising scores becomes necessary when these factors change the overall difficulty level of paper.
How is the GATE score Calculated?

Also, the GATE PSU cutoff will be released separately for each participating PSUs.
