CCMT Counselling 2025 - The Centralized Counselling for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. Admissions will release the CCMT schedule on the official website at ccmt.admissions.nic.in

CCMT Counselling 2025 schedule will be released by the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. Admissions at ccmt.admissions.nic.in. Students eligible to participate can check the CCMT Counselling dates, once released.

Once the registration ends, candidates can fill in their preferred choices of courses and colleges. Following the choice filling round, CCMT seat allotment list is released. Usually, there are three rounds of CCMT Counselling. Additional rounds will take place if seats remain vacant.

Students who have registered for the CCMT Counselling process can download the seat allotment list from the official website. Candidates who are satisfied with their seat allotment can choose the freeze option to confirm their seat. If not, students have the option to choose Float and Slide. After the seat allotment list is out, CCMT opening and closing ranks are released round wise.

Students who are allotted seats in the seat allotment have to pay the seat acceptance fee and upload documents. The window for resolution of any queries raised during online document verification, and process related to willingness/withdrawal will be open for registered candidates.

CCMT 2025 (for regular rounds) will consist of the following stages: 

  • The first stage involves online registration, payment of registration fee, filling and locking of choices.
  • The second stage involves three rounds of counselling. This includes allotment of seats, paying the seat acceptance fee and online document verification.
  • The third stage includes taking admission in the allotted institute by depositing the partial admission fee in the stipulated time.

What is CCMT?

Centralised Counselling for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan./M.Des. (CCMT) is a centralised counselling process conducted for admissions in postgraduate programs in engineering, architecture, planning, and design. It allows candidates to apply for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan./M.Des. programs in participating institutes all NITs, IIEST Shibpur, and some IIITs & CFTIs based on their GATE scores.

CCMT special rounds counselling schedule has been released on the official website - ccmt.admissions.nic.in. The registration process for special rounds will start tentatively in July 2025. There will be two special rounds for CCMT Counselling 2025. The seat allotment results for both special rounds will be released after registration and choice filling process. CCMT Counselling Dates (Special Round)

The Centralized Counseling for M. Tech./M. Arch./M. Plan Admissions will release the seat intake for M.Tech programs in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. The total seat intake for IITs, NITs, and CFTIs for the year 2024 is given in the table below

CCMT Participating Colleges

Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned below in order to apply for CCMT 2025:

  • To be eligible for CCMT 2025, candidates must possess a valid GATE score from the year 2023/ 2024/ 2025. 
  • Candidates must have completed their qualifying degree (B.Tech./B.E./B.Arch. or equivalent) from a recognized university. 
  • B.Tech./B.E./B.Arch final year students are eligible to apply. However, they must submit the proof of passing the qualifying degree by September 2025.
  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying degree (55% in case of SC/ST candidates).

To register for CCMT Counselling, candidates need to visit the official CCMT website, fill out the registration form and select their preferred programs and colleges.The registration process for CCMT 2025 involves the following steps: 

  • Visit the official website- ccmt.admissions.nic.in 
  • Register by providing the necessary credentials such as GATE registration number, GATE score etc.
  • Fill out the Application form by providing GATE credentials, qualifying degrees and personal details.
  • Complete the payment process by  paying the registration fee.
  • Upon successful payment, candidates will be able to fill and lock their choices of programmes in the order of their preference 

The seat allotment process involves the allocation of seats to candidates based on their GATE scores, choices filled during counselling, and availability of seats in the participating institutes. The CCMT seat allotment date will be determined based on the counselling schedule which will tentatively be released in June 2025. 

CCMT Seat Allotment Process 2025

The seats will be allotted on the  basis of choices submitted by the candidates during registration and the merit secured in GATE 2025. The allotment result will be declared on the CCMT website and candidates will be able to download their Provisional Seat Allotment Letter (PSAL) from their CCMT login portal after depositing the Seat Acceptance Fee.

On allotment of a seat, the candidate is required to pay the seat acceptance fee, upload the required documents, and submit willingness within the stipulated time as notified on the website.

After taking admission in the allotted institute by depositing the partial admission fee in the stipulated time, the candidates are required to report at the finally allotted institute in the “Final Reporting” period, failing which their seat will be cancelled and the fee deposited will be forfeited.

Special rounds in CCMT 2025 refer to the additional rounds for seat allotment beyond the main counselling process in order to fill any vacant seats. Important dates for special rounds will be announced by the conducting authority on the official website. No dates for CCMT 2025 special rounds have been announced as of now.

Candidates participating in CCMT counselling will need to submit the following documents:

  • Document for Proof of date of birth
  • Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms
  • Marksheet of Class XII
  • Marksheets of qualifying examination for all semesters
  • Degree/ Provisional certificate
  • GATE score card (2023, 2024, 2025)
  • Category certificate (if applicable)

Reporting centres are designated venues where candidates must physically report for document verification and seat acceptance after seat allotment. The list of reporting centres for CCMT 2025 will be provided on the official website. Candidates must note that only institutes participating in CCMT counselling will serve as the reporting centres.

Has CCMT 2025 registration started?

CCMT registration 2025 will start at ccmt.admissions.nic.in. The CCMT 2025 registration will start tentatively in May 2025. Eligible candidates can apply on the official website.

Is CCMT only for NITs?

No, CCMT is not only for NITs. A total of 40 institutes participate in the CCMT process including all NITs, IIEST Shibpur, and some IIITs & CFTIs.

What is the minimum CGPA for MTech in NIT?

Candidates must have a minimum of 6.5 CGPA (or 60% marks) in order to gain admission in M.Tech programmes offered by NITs. The minimum percentage required in case of SC/ST candidates is 55% (or 6.0 CGPA).

How many rounds are there in CCMT?

In CCMT 2024, three rounds of counselling will be conducted. In these rounds, seats will be alloted to the candidates on the basis of their rank and preferences.

What is the difference between CCMT and COAP?

The GATE COAP counselling will be conducted for admission to M.Tech programs in IITs, while GATE CCMT counselling will be conducted for admission to M.Tech programs in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs & CFTIs.

When will CCMT Round 1 seat allotment be released?

CCMT Round 1 seat allotment list has been released on June 12, 2024. Students can confirm the seat by paying the required fee if they are satisfied with the seat allotment.

What is Slide option?

The Slide option in CCMT Counselling means that the candidate is satisfied with the college allotted but not with the course.

Is CCMT Cut off 2025 released?

No, the CCMT cutoff will be released after the seat allotment list is out. It will be out in the form of opening and closing ranks. Candidates can check the previous years' cutoff in this article
