Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay): The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, a public autonomous research institution founded in 1958, is the most sought-after institute for students interested in technical education and engineering degrees. The Indian government gave the institute the status of Institution of National Importance shortly after it had been in operation for three years. The institution was created with the assistance and technological know-how of the Soviet Union and UNESCO. The institute has three schools, fifteen academic departments, and 38 educational centers which provide several courses in various disciplines. The institute's major programs include B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc., and MBA. In addition, it provides B.Des, M.Des, and a few integrated program courses. JEE Advanced scores are used to determine IIT Bombay admission for BTech course, which is then followed by the JoSAA counseling process. IIT Bombay's flagship B.Tech courses had a seat intake of 1036 in 2021, while the five-year integrated B.Tech + M.Tech program had a seat intake of 228. In addition, 96 candidates were accepted into the institute's 4-year BS program last year. IIT Bombay fees for B.Tech, B.Tech+M.Tech, BS & B.Des program is INR 1,24,600 per semester. For all PG programs excluding MBA, the fee is around INR 85,500 per semester. Additionally, the college provides its students with financial help and scholarships. Students who fall within the SC, ST, or PH categories are free from paying tuition fees in full. A merit-cum-means scholarship is also available for students from households earning less than INR 5 lakh annually by means of waiving their 100% tuition fee. IIT Bombay placement cell is responsible for inviting reputed companies for campus placement. The IIT Bombay Placement 2024 drive established new milestones. The average package stood at INR 23.50 LPA. More than 350 companies visited the college in all, and they provided 1650 job opportunities to deserving students.
