Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay): The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, a public autonomous research institution founded in 1958, is the most sought-after institute for students interested in technical education and engineering degrees. The Indian government gave the institute the status of Institution of National Importance shortly after it had been in operation for three years. The institution was created with the assistance and technological know-how of the Soviet Union and UNESCO. According to NIRF Ranking 2024, the institute is ranked 3rd in engineering, 3rd in the overall category and #10 in the management category. The institute is also ranked 4th in the research category. The institute has three schools, fifteen academic departments, and 38 educational centers which provide several courses in various disciplines. The institute's major programs include B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc., and MBA. In addition, it provides B.Des, M.Des, and a few integrated program courses. JEE Advanced scores are used to determine IIT Bombay admission for BTech course, which is then followed by the JoSAA counseling process. • IIT Bombay MTech Admission 2025 registrations with a late fee are open till April 16 at iitb.ac.in; candidates must also register on COAP.
• Application fee is Rs 650 for women, SC/ST/PwD, and Rs 800 for other categories; only one application per candidate is allowed.
• Admission is primarily based on GATE scores, but some courses may also require a written test or interview.

IIT Bombay's flagship B.Tech courses had a seat intake of 1036 in 2021, while the five-year integrated B.Tech + M.Tech program had a seat intake of 228. In addition, 96 candidates were accepted into the institute's 4-year BS program last year. IIT Bombay fees for B.Tech, B.Tech+M.Tech, BS & B.Des program is INR 1,24,600 per semester. For all PG programs excluding MBA, the fee is around INR 85,500 per semester. Additionally, the college provides its students with financial help and scholarships. Students who fall within the SC, ST, or PH categories are free from paying tuition fees in full. A merit-cum-means scholarship is also available for students from households earning less than INR 5 lakh annually by means of waiving their 100% tuition fee. Additionally, these students are also given yearly scholarships for further financial aid.

IIT Bombay placement cell  is responsible for inviting reputed companies for campus placement.  The IIT Bombay Placement 2024 drive established new milestones. The average package stood at INR 23.50 LPA. More than 350 companies visited the college in all, and they provided 1650 job opportunities to deserving students.

IIT Bombay Location

The institution is located in Mumbai's Powai district (Bombay). Buses, trains, and airlines of the city of Mumbai connect to the campus. IIT Bombay is around 10 kilometers from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The domestic airport is around 15 kilometers from the main campus. For students arriving by Central Railway, the nearest stations to IIT Bombay are KanjurMarg, Ghatkopar, and Vikhroli. A total of 22 job offers boasted a CTC exceeding Rs 1 crore per annum. IIT Bombay Scholarship

A significant number of scholarships are awarded to students each year. Scholarships are awarded to students at IIT Bombay depending on their academic achievement.
