Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a central public sector undertaking, announced the SAIL Recruitment through GATE 2024 on their official website, sail.co.in. SAIL is owned by the Steel Authority of India Limited and is India’s largest steel producing company. According to the official notification, SAIL is recruiting candidates for the operation of its plants/units and mines across India. A total of 249 vacancies are released post of Management Trainee in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation and many more disciplines. 

SAIL is also accepting valid GATE scores in the recruitment process. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE Exam serves as a gateway for students wishing to pursue higher education in various fields of engineering. GATE scores are widely recognized for admission to leading Indian universities and institutes, as well as for recruitment by prominent PSUs.

SAIL Recruitment 2024: Eligibility 

Thousands of candidates apply each year for coveted positions at SAIL. To shortlist suitable candidates, SAIL has established eligibility criteria that include minimum educational qualifications and an upper age limit.

SAIL MT Education Qualification

• Applicants must possess an Engineering degree with an aggregate of 65% in any discipline like Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Metallurgy from a recognized University/Institute.
• Applicants must have a valid GATE 2024 Score in the related branches.

SAIL MT Upper Age Limit

SAIL Recruitment: Selection Process

SAIL will use scores from eight GATE 2024 Engineering papers: Chemical (CH), Civil (CE), Computer Science (CS), Instrumentation (IN), Electrical (EE), Electronics (EC), Mechanical (ME), and Metallurgical (MT). Candidates who appeared for GATE 2024 in these papers are eligible to apply. SAIL will shortlist candidates based on their GATE 2024 performance and the company's requirements. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via the SAIL careers page, email, or phone to participate in a Group Discussion and Interview. The final selection will be based on a merit list, combining GATE-2024 scores, Group Discussion, and Interview with a weightage of 75:10:15, respectively.

SAIL Online Application Form: Steps to apply 

Candidates who are eligible to participate in the SAIL recruitment through GATE exam are required to apply online only through the SAIL careers page on SAIL's website: sail.co.in or sailcareers.com. It is important to note that SAIL only accepts online applications and no request for editing of Application details will be entertained in wrong submission cases and candidature will stand rejected.

Follow these steps after the initial registration is done.

• Click on "Registered User" and go further by using User ID & Password.
• Complete the application submission process step by step by filling required information, uploading the documents) as required and making payment online.
• After your payment gets confirmed, a Registration slip will show the status of payment as "confirmed" and that is the confirmation of completion of the Registration process. Registration without confirmation of payment will not be completed.
• Submit the application after completion of all requisites and take a print out of completed application having unique registration ID. Please ensure to download system generated Provisional Registration slip.
