WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2024: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) releases the eligibility criteria for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) on its official website. The eligibility criteria are a set of parameters that candidates must meet in order to appear for the examination. It is to be noted that candidates failing to meet the eligibility can be disqualified at any stage of the WBJEE selection process.
The WBJEE eligibility criteria is different as per the course opted by the candidate. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria can fill out the WBJEE application form on the official website. As per the WBJEE age criteria 2024, the minimum age of the candidate must be 17 years as of December 31, 2024. There is no upper age limit to apply for the WBJEE except for candidates who wish to pursue Marine Engineering. The maximum age to apply for Marine Engineering is 25 years.
Aspirants must also have 45% in their Class 10+2 as aggregate marks with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application/Technical Vocational Subjects as compulsory subjects.

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2024

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have required educational qualifications in order to appear for the exam. The criteria vary as per the course candidate has opted for. Interested students can check the course-wise eligibility criteria below:
General Criteria for Admission into Engineering/Technology Courses
- The candidate must have successfully completed the qualifying examination, or "10+2" examination, with Physics, Mathematics, and one of the following as compulsory subjects: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, Computer Application, or Technical Vocational Subject, with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical/project wherever applicable) in all three of the aforementioned subjects.
- Must have earned at least 45% overall in the aforementioned three subjects combined (40% for applicants from the reserved categories, i.e., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and PWD).
- Must have received at least 30% in the English paper in the 12th standard (10+2) or its equivalent.
- The Central Government or the relevant State Government shall recognise the Board of the aforementioned Qualifying Examination.
General Criteria for Admission to Pharmacy Courses
- The applicant must have successfully completed the "10+2" exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology as required subjects, and must have earned individual passing grades in each of the three disciplines as noted above (in both theory and practical/project, as appropriate).
- Must have earned at least 45% overall in the aforementioned three subjects combined (40% for applicants in the reserved categories of SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and PWD).
- Must have received at least 30% in English in 10+2
- The Central Government or the relevant State Government must recognise the Board of the aforementioned Qualifying Examination.
General Criteria for Admission into five-Year Degree Course in Architecture
- No candidate shall be accepted to the architecture programme unless he or she has completed the final examination for the 10+2 programme with a minimum of 50% in each of the three subject areas—Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics—when taken along with the respective pass marks and 50% in the overall 10+2 exam.
- The applicant must also succeed in the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) exam. Nevertheless, further notice in this respect, if granted by COA/NTA, may also be used.
General Criteria for Admission into Marine Engineering
- Candidates must pass the 10+2 exam of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination from a recognised Council/Board in regular class mode with: a) 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics taken together with individual pass marks (both in theory and practical/project wherever applicable) in each of the said subjects.
- A minimum of 50% in the English subject at the 10th or 10+2nd grade level.
WBJEE Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit
Aspiring students must fulfil the age limit criteria to be eligible for the WBJEE 2024 examination. Aspiring applicants can check the age limit criteria below:
- The minimum age requirement is 17 (seventeen) as of December 31, 2024. An applicant must have been born on or before December 31, 2006, to qualify. The examination has no upper age limit for participation.
- Nevertheless, as of December 31, 2024, the maximum age for entry to the degree-level Marine Engineering Course is 25 years old.
WBJEE Eligibility Criteria: Domicile/Residential
- A candidate cannot be admitted to any seat, including general category seats,
- in any government-aided engineering, technology, or pharmacy colleges unless they are a resident of their home state, which is West Bengal.
- Any B. Tech. (Dairy Technology) seat, including general category seats, at the West Bengal University of Animal & Fisheries Sciences.
- In 90% of the seats in the General category at Jadavpur University.
- Any seat in any institute that falls under a reserved category (SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD, TFW).
- As Aliah University is a State Government University, the residency and domicile requirements of the State (West Bengal) are applicable for admission.
