MHT CET Eligibility 2025: The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra conducts the MHT CET exam in an online mode to offer admission to eligible students in Agriculture, Pharmacy, engineering and technology courses. The conducting body also releases the eligibility criteria for the same in its official notification. Aspiring students who are preparing for the exam must fulfil the MHT CET eligibility criteria 2025. Aspirants who fail to meet the eligibility requirements will be disqualified from the exam selection process.

The MHT CET eligibility criteria are a set of parameters with respect to education qualification, age limit, and nationality that aspiring candidates must fulfil. Only those candidates who meet all the eligibility requirements must fill out the MHT CET application form. The application form will be soon released by the conducting body on its official website.

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2025

The candidate must have passed Class 10+2 with a minimum percentage of marks as required by the commission in order to be eligible to apply for the MHT CET examination. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/ IT/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies/ Technical Vocational subject in order to take admission to B.E/B.Tech course. For admission to pharmacy courses, the candidate must have Physics & Chemistry along with Biology or Mathematics.

Maharashtra State Candidature Criteria for MHT CET 2025

Only one kind of Maharashtra State Candidature Type, ranging from Type A to E, may be claimed by a candidate. This category includes candidates with Maharashtra state domicile.

Candidature Type

Eligibility Criteria

Type A

For First Year: -

(i) Candidates passing SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering Examination from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State;

(ii) Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra; 

For Direct Second Year: -

(1) For Engineering. - Candidates passing SSC or HSC and also Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Bachelor of Science or Diploma of Vocation (D. Voc.) or its equivalent from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State;

(2) For Pharmacy. - Candidates passing HSC and Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State;

(ii) Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra.

Type B

A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possesses Domicile Certificate. 

Type C

A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP. 

Type D

A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an

employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking. 

Type E

For First year

Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognized institution located in Maharashtra Karnataka Border area or from Maharashtra, residing in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose mother tongue is Marathi;

For direct second year

Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination and also Diploma in Engineering and Technology or Pharmacy or D.Voc. or its equivalent from a recognized institution from Maharashtra Karnataka Border area or from Maharashtra, residing in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose mother tongue is Marathi.

Explanation.- The Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area includes the villages declared by the State Government for that purpose. 

All India Candidature

  • This group includes applicants who are applying for admission to Maharashtra's engineering institutions but do not reside in the state.
  • Applicants who are of Indian descent may apply under this category.

Minority Candidature

Applicants from the State of Maharashtra who are members of a certain linguistic or religious minority community, as designated by the government, are eligible under this category.

Other State Candidature

  • Applicants falling under this category must have a Domicile Certificate, Residential Certificate, Residence and Date of Birth Certificate issued by a competent body other than Maharashtra State.
  • Applicants from Jammu and Kashmir who are migrants would be given consideration under this category.

Candidates who have passed diploma in engineering and technology are also eligible to apply

General: 45%

OBC/SC/ST: 40%

BPharma

Candidates must have passed Class 10+2 with Physics & Chemistry. 

Candidates must have Mathematics or Biology as third subject in order to be eligible for the exam

General: 45%

OBC/SC/ST: 40%

DPharma

Candidates must have passed Class 10+2 with Physics & Chemistry. 

Candidates must have Mathematics or Biology as third subject in order to be eligible for the exam

Candidates who have passed diploma course in Pharmacy are also eligible to apply.

General: 50%

OBC/SC/ST: 45%

MHT CET Age Limit

There is no age limit to apply for the MHT CET exam. Candidates should have just passed 10+2 with relevant subjects and minimum percentage of marks to be eligible for the exam.
