CBSE 12th Result 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education will announce the CBSE Class 12 result 2025 on its official website - cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in. The board usually announces the CBSE result for Class 12 likely in the second or third week of May 2025. Once released, candidates can download their marksheet using roll number, admit card number, and other credentials. Last year, the CBSE 12th result was announced on May 13. 

Apart from the official websites, students who appeared for the CBSE 12 board exams 2025 can also check their results via SMS, IVRS or Call, DigiLocker and UMANG application. Students must note that the online CBSE 12th mark sheets which the board will release on the day of the result, are provisional in nature. Students will receive the original marksheets from their respective schools.

After the announcement of the result, CBSE conducts the supplementary examination for candidates who failed to secure minimum passing. The supplementary, also known as, CBSE 12th compartment examination is conducted only for those students who fail in maximum two subjects. The CBSE 12th supplementary result is then announced tentatively announced in July. The result can be checked by visiting the official website of CBSE - cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in. Students need to enter their required login credentials such as roll number, school number and admit card ID in the login window to get their marksheets. 

Latest Updates:

• CBSE 12th Exam Date is February 15, 2025 (Onwards). The date is liable to change as per the discretion of the board.
• The complete subject-wise CBSE 12th date sheet 2025 will be released soon by the board. It is expected to be released this year in December.

CBSE 12th Result 2025 - Relative Grading 

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has adopted a relative grading system instead of an absolute grading system because it is a more scientific approach for awarding subject-wise grades to the students of classes 10th and 12th. 

For awarding grades, all the selected candidates are put in rank order and have been divided into 8 equal  groups and are awarded grades in the table below -

• Many variations in the proportion of students to adjust ties are made, wherever applicable.
• In case of a tie, all students getting the same score will be awarded a similar grade.
• Methods of grading are used in subjects where the no. of passed candidates is more than 500. 
• Regarding subjects where the total no. of students passing a subject is less than 500, the grading will be adopted in the pattern of grading and distribution in other similar subjects.

CBSE 12th Result 2025 - Verification Schedule

The board will release a schedule for CBSE result verification, revaluation process on its official website after the declaration of the Class 12 result. Students can check the tentative schedule in the table below -

Overall Pass Percentage

This year, the overall pass percentage has been 87.3% whereas the previous year, the overall pass percentage was 92.7%. Thus, in 2023, the overall pass percentage dipped by 5.38% as compared to 2022.

Gender-Wise Pass Percentage

This year, the pass percentage for girls has been 90.68% and for boys, it has been 84.67%. From this, we can infer that the girls have performed better than the boys by 6.01%.
