IIT Jodhpur: Placements, Admission, Cutoffs, and Courses & Fees

The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, (IIT Jodhpur) is an autonomous technical institute in Rajasthan, India. The institute was established in 2008. Functioning from a sprawling campus of 825 acres, IIT Jodhpur offers a total of 59 courses across disciplines like engineering, basic sciences, humanities, social sciences, management, medical technologies, etc. IIT Jodhpur is ranked 30 in the engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2023. 

IIT Jodhpur offers its flagship course in B.Tech. program in nine specialisations. IIT Jodhpur B.Tech admission requires a Higher Secondary Certificate degree (10+2) with at least 75% of marks.  Seats in these courses will be allocated based on the JEE Advanced score followed by a separate counselling process through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSSA). In the academic year 2021-2022, IIT Jodhpur admitted 1461 students (1214 males and 247 females) under their UG program. 

IIT Jodhpur B.Tech tuition fee is INR 1,00,000 per semester for candidates whose family income is above INR 5 lakh per annum. Whereas, the tuition fee is INR 33,333/semester for those whose family income is between 1-5 lakh per annum. Candidates whose family income is less than INR 1 lakh per annum are exempted from paying tuition fees.

IIT Jodhpur Admission 2024

IIT Jodhpur admission to different programs will require a national-level entrance score (JEE Advanced/GATE/IIT JAM/NET) followed by centralised counselling (JoSSA/COAP/CCMT/JOAPS) round. A course-wise detail along with its selection criteria and seat matrix is given below for admission to IIT Jodhpur:

IIT Jodhpur B.Tech Admission 2024

IIT Jodhpur offers four-year undergraduate programs in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, etc. The minimum eligibility is an HSC (10+2) degree with 75% of marks along with a JEE Advanced scored card. This will be followed by centralised JoSSA Counselling. 

The minimum eligibility for the JEE Advanced exam is based on the candidate's performance in the JEE Main exam. All JEE (Main) 2024 B.E./B.Tech. applicants must be among the top 2,50,000 scorers across all categories. The top 2,50,000 applicants from each category will be selected based on their B.E./B.Tech. paper performance. Candidates from various categories will be shortlisted based on the following percentages: 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 40.5% OPEN for all. Within each category, 5% of the seats are reserved for PwD candidates.

IIT Jodhpur M.Tech Admission 2024

IIT Jodhpur offers a two-year master’s degree in 12 specialisations in disciplines like Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Bioscience and Bioengineering, etc. It also offers a two-year degree in Executive M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence. For admission in any of these courses, candidates need a bachelor’s degree along with a national-level exam (GATE) scorecard. Registration is over for the GATE 2024 exam. IIT Jodhpur M.Sc Admission 2024

IIT Jodhpur offers a two-year master's program in chemistry, physics, maths, and Digital Humanities. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to IIT Jodhpur is a bachelor’s degree. The selection criteria are based on the IIT JAM score followed by JOAPS counselling. Registration for IIT JAM 2024 exam is over.                   

IIT Jodhpur Integrated M.Sc. + M.Tech. Admission 2024

IIT Jodhpur offers both full-time and part-time M.Sc. + M.Tech. Dual degree in Data and Computational Sciences, and Physics-Materials Engineering. For admission, candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree with 60% (GEN/EWS/OBC), and 55% of marks (SC/ST/PwD) along with an IIT JAM scorecard. 

IIT Jodhpur Ph.D. Admission 2024

IIT Jodhpur offers a doctoral degree in both part-time and full-time modes. For this candidate should have a master’s degree with 60% marks. They should also qualify institute’s entrance tests followed by a personal interview. However, candidates who have already qualified for GATE/CSIR-NET exams are exempted from taking the institute’s entrance test, but they need to sit for the final interview round. 

IIT Jodhpur Cutoffs 2024

The JEE Main and GATE cutoff for 2024 will be releasing soon after JEE Advanced Result. Based on this score, candidates will be called for the final counselling round or interview.

IIT Jodhpur Placement 2024

The official report for 2024 is yet to be released. IIT Jodhpur graduates in 2022-23 earned a maximum salary of INR 61 lakhs for B.Tech. and INR 28.6 lakhs for M.Tech., according to the placement report. IIT Jodhpur 2021-23 placement report shows that the highest and average CTC was INR 23.8 LPA and INR 12 LPA. In the academic year 2021-22, IIT Jodhpur recorded 97.18% placement, where around 164 UG students were placed with a median salary package of INR 15 LPA. The internship count has also increased by 30 per cent.
