Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu): Established in 2016, Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu), a public technical institute located in Jammu and Kashmir, India, secured the 62nd position in the engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2024. IIT Jammu is recognised by UGC, and its courses are approved by AICTE. The admission is done through a national-level examination (JEE Advanced) rank after which seats will be allocated centralized counselling conducted by JoSSA at the All-India level. The total student strength at IIT Jammu under the UG program was 705 in 2022-23. The tuition fee for B.Tech. program is INR 1,00,000 per semester for candidates whose family income is above INR 5 lakhs.

When it comes to placement, IIT Jammu has an excellent track record. The highest and average salary package for the academic year 2023-24 was INR 53 LPA and INR 15.5 LPA. program. Whereas, the highest and average salary package for the academic year 2022-23 was INR 43 LPA and INR 16.5 LPA in M.Tech. program. A total of 220 placement offers were given to 222 students. IIT Jammu Admission 2025

IIT Jammu admits students based on their performance in various entrance exams followed by a personal interview. For undergraduate programs, admission is based on JEE Advanced scores. For postgraduate and research programs, admission is based on national-level examinations such as IIT JAM, GATE, UGC, CSIR-NET, NBHM, and Inspire. IIT Jammu B.Tech. Admission 2025

IIT Jammu B.Tech admission in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or Chemical Engineering, one needs to take the JEE Advanced exam and get a good score. Seats are allocated to students based on their JEE Advanced scores. The dates for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam are mentioned below:

IIT Jammu B.Tech. and MBA Admission 2025

IIT Jammu offers a dual degree program with IIM Jammu, which allows students to earn a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in four years and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in two years. Students can opt to transition to the IIM Jammu MBA program at the end of their third year of the B.Tech. program, without having to take the Common Admission Test (CAT), as long as they have a minimum CGPA of 7.0. This provision is in line with the National Education Policy 2020, which emphasizes the interdisciplinary and inter-institutional nature of higher education programs. Students who do not transition to the MBA program will receive a B.Tech. degree upon completing the academic requirements of IIT Jammu.

IIT Jammu M.Tech. Admission 2025

IIT Jammu M.Tech. admission in Computer Science and Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering will require one to have a GATE score. One must also have a bachelor's degree with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher (7.5 for SC/ST candidates). The table below provides some key information about the upcoming GATE 2025 exam.

IIT Jammu M.Sc./M.S. Admission 2025

IIT Jammu admission to the two-year master’s program and a master of science in Research in Chemistry discipline will be based on the IIT JAM scorecard. One has to submit a JAM-2025 undertaking form and also produce a valid reserved category certificate (if applicable). IIT JAM 2024 exam registration opened online on September 5th.   

IIT Jammu Ph.D. Admission 2025

IIT Jammu Ph.D. admission in Computer Science and Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, humanities, and social sciences will be based solely on a national-level examination (UGC, CSIR, INSPIRE, NBHM, or another JRF scheme).
