• Both full-time and working executives are required to pay a caution deposit fee of INR 10,000 each for the PhD program.

IIM Shillong PhD and PhD(WP) Admission 2025

IIM Shillong PhD program's duration is of four years. Candidates can take up to two extensions of six months for course completion. Below are the eligibility and selection criteria for the course:

The following categories are eligible for exemption from taking the standard test:

• Students who have completed PGP (Post Graduate Program) from IIMs or Indian universities are ranked among the top 50 institutes according to NIRF.  These students must have obtained a CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 and possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the PGP program.
• Applicants with a minimum of 10 years of managerial work experience from either government or non-government sectors are also exempted from taking the standard test.

It is important to note that candidates exceeding the program's 4 years are permitted to continue their studies based on their progress and the payment of the continuation fee. However, the program's duration cannot be extended beyond 7 years.
