After the release of the CMAT result, participating colleges invite students for the GD-PI-WAT round. Top institutes like SIMSREE, Great Lakes Chennai, and JBIMS require a CMAT score of above 98 percentile for MBA admission. To get a percentile above 98, students must try to score 320+ marks in the CMAT examCMAT counselling is conducted separately by participating institutions. The colleges release the opening & closing ranks after counselling for final MBA admission.

NTA has no role in conducting the CMAT counselling round. The participating colleges separately call students for counselling based on their performance in the CMAT 2026 exam. The counselling process for CMAT 2026 involves:
