Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar (NIT Jalandhar) flagship program is B.Tech., which requires a higher secondary degree (10+2) with 75% marks and a valid JEE Main score. Admission is through JoSAA/CSAB counseling for domestic students and DASA/ICCR counseling for international students. In the 2022-23 academic year, 4269 students (3321 males and 948 females) were admitted to various undergraduate programs.

Admission to over 40 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering, sciences, management, and technology at NIT Jalandhar requires candidates to qualify for a national-level entrance exam such as GATE, JEE Main, IIT JAM, UGC, or CSIR. This is followed by a counseling round through JoSSA, CSAB, CCMT, or CCMN for Indian candidates, and DASA or ICCR counseling for international candidates.

NIT Jalandhar offers a two-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in addition to its core engineering programs. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree with a CGPA of at least 6.5 or 60% marks (GEN/EWS/OBC), or a CGPA of at least 6.0 or 55% marks (SC/ST/PwD), as well as a valid CMAT/CAT score.
