IIM Shillong Placements 2023: Highlights, Average CTC, and Top Recruiters

IIM Shillong Placement 2023 has been completed, with the enthusiastic participation of 238 students. The placement drive saw various domains out of which the Strategy & Consulting sector emerged as the domain offering the highest average compensation. Sales and Marketing closely followed it at 29%, Finance at 16%, and IT & Analytics, General Management, and Human Resources & Operations, each accounting for 10% of the average compensation offered.

IIM Shillong also organized summer internships for students. IIM Shillong offered an impressive stipend package, with the highest amount reaching INR 4,75,000. The internship program showcased a strong average and median remuneration, with figures reaching INR 2,06,075 and INR 2,00,000 respectively. The placement drive witnessed the active participation of 67 prominent recruiters, including 37 new recruiters, reaffirming the institute's strong industry connections and the interest of companies in engaging with IIM Shillong students. 

EXL, Infosys, Manyawar, Uber, Adani, Amagi, Jio, and Mahindra emerged as some of the top recruiters at IIM Shillong. IIM Shillong extended placement opportunities to candidates pursuing the Postgraduate Program for Executives (PGPEX). The batch of 2023 witnessed the enrollment of 43 participants, with an average work experience of 7.5 years. Out of these, 37 students successfully secured placements through the institute.

IIM Shillong Placements 2023 witnessed the enthusiastic participation of a total of 238 students. Among the participants, 55% were males, and 45% were females. The students displayed rich diversity in their educational backgrounds, with 59% hailing from engineering disciplines. Additionally, 17% of the students specialized in finance, commerce, and other diverse fields. A notable 7% of the students were from the field of pure sciences.

A significant proportion of students, 42% to be precise, possessed domain experience in the vibrant realm of IT and Analytics. It was followed by 15% in finance, 12% in sales and marketing, 12% in operations, and 7% in strategy. The remaining 12% were from other domains, showcasing the varied interests and expertise of the students. Furthermore, 27% of the students brought 24 months of invaluable professional experience to the table, contributing to the enriching dynamics of the placement process. IIM Shillong Placement Overview 2023

IIM Shillong students were offered the highest CTC of INR 71.30 LPA. The Subsequent Median and average CTC at IIM Shillong were INR 26.09 LPA and INR 26.96 LPA respectively.  Yearly there is a 16.70% increase in the average CTC. IIM Shillong students received the highest offers from Consulting and Strategy (35%). Following that were the domains of Finance (20%), Sales & Marketing (17%), IT & Analytics (16%), General Management (7%), and  Human Resources & Operations (5%).

IIM Shillong experienced the active participation of 283 students in its summer internship program. Among the participants, a majority of 79% were males, while 21% were females. In terms of educational background, Engineering emerged as the primary field of study, with 45% of the students specializing in this discipline. Following it, 36% of the participants came from the finance and commerce sectors. Pure science constituted 10% of the students. The remaining 9% represented various other fields. The student's internship experiences also varied:

• Notably, 32% of the students focus on IT And Analytics. 
• Sales & Marketing accounted for 14% of the students,
• While 13% pursued internships in the finance domain. 
• Strategy & Consulting attracted 9% of the participants. 
• HR & Operations encompassed 3% of the students.
• The remaining 29% of the students explored other domains.
