Top 10 Engineering Entrance Exam in India 2025: Detailed Overview

In order to secure admission into prestigious institutions such as IITs, NITs, and IIITs, students must participate in all Indian engineering exams like JEE Advanced and JEE Mains 2025. These examinations serve as pivotal gateways for aspiring engineering students. Individuals can refer to a comprehensive list of entrance exams after 12th, offering detailed insights and information crucial for securing admission into various esteemed engineering colleges across the country.

JEE Main 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the JEE Main 2025 in an online mode. The examination is conducted in two sessions. JEE Main session 1 will be conducted from January 22 to January 31, 2025. While, the JEE Main session 2 will be conducted from April 4 to April 15, 2025. JEE Main 2025 exam requires students to have passed Class 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects with a minimum 75% mark as an aggregate in order to qualify for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

Candidates who pass the JEE Main 2025 exam are eligible for appearing for the JEE Advanced 2025. The exam is necessary for securing admission to IITs. As of last year, 1,80,372 candidates took JEE Advanced 2024, and 43,773 passed.

After the declaration of the JEE Advanced result 2025, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority releases the JoSAA Opening and Closing rank based on which admissions are offered to students through centralised counselling process.

AP EAMCET 2025

The Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur every year for candidates wishing to secure admission to engineering prorgams. The exam is also taken for offering admission to agricultural and medical courses in various colleges of Andhra Pradesh. 

AP EAMCET 2024 witnessed the registration of over 2.74 lakh candidates for engineering entrance examination. It is expected that the registration numbers will be around same this year as well.

The AP EAMCET exam consists of 160 questions, with each question carrying 1 mark. The paper is divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Physics and Chemistry each have 40 questions, while Mathematics has 80 questions. JNTU Anantapur conducts the AP EAMCET Counselling for candidates who qualified the exam. The scores obtained by candidates in the exam hold 100% weightage for the final selection.

MHT CET 2025

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra conducts the MHT CET 2025 exam. As per the tentative calendar released by the conducting body, the exam is to be conducted in April/May 2025. The registration for the same will likely start in March 2025.

MHT CET 2025 eligibility criteria requires candidates to have passed Class 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/ IT/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies/ Technical Vocational subject for admission to B.E/B.Tech course.

Over 3 lakh PCM category students appeared for MHT CET exam last year for B.Tech admission to state government colleges of Maharashtra.

VITEEE 2025

VITEEE is the popular private engineering entrance exam conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for admission to undergraduate engineering courses. Currently, the application forms for VITEEE 2025 are open and will remain available till March 31, 2025. The entrance exam is tentatively scheduled between April 21, 2025 and April 27, 2025. 

As per VITEEE Exam Pattern 2025, the paper consists of 125 questions five topics – Physics, Maths, Chemistry, English & Aptitude. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. Also, there is no negative marking in the exam.

Students must also note that VIT University solely offers admission to B.E/B.Tech program based on VITEEE 2024 scores. Scores of national level engineering entrance exams like JEE Main are not accepted.

BITSAT 2025

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is conducted by BITS Pilani for admission to B.E/B.Tech program. BITSAT 2025 registration will likely start in January 2025, as per the previous years’ trends. However, the official dates are yet to be announced by BITS Pilani.

In the year 2024, over 300,000 students appeared for BITSAT exam. BITS Pilani considers BITSAT scores only valid for admission to B.Tech programmes.

BITSAT 2025 Exam

WBJEE 2025

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) is a body responsible for conducting WBJEE 2025 exam. The exam is scheduled tentatively for last week of April 2025, as per the dates released by the board. Candidates can expect the registration form to be open around in December 2024. A total of 1,42,694 students appeared for the WBJEE exam in the year 2024. 

As per the WBJEE eligibility criteria, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics  with 45% overall in the aforementioned three subjects combined (40% for applicants from the reserved categories, i.e., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and PWD). They must also have 30% marks in English subject in their 12th grade.

COMEDK UGET 2024

COMEDK UGET 2024 will be conducted in the second week of May 2025 by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka. A total of 1.2 lakh students appeared for the COMEDK UGET exam in 2024. The exam is conducted for B.E/B.Tech admission to different state engineering colleges of Karnataka. 

As per COMEDK UGET Exam Pattern, there are a total of 180 questions in the paper. The total number of questions are divided equally among three sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

SRMJEEE 2025

SRMJEEE is one of the popular private engineering entrance exams conducted by the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST). SRMJEEE 2024 exam dates are out on the official website of the institute. SRMJEEE 2025 exam will be conducted from April 2025 to June 2025. The registration process for the same will start soon on the official website.

AEEE 2025

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, also known as, Amrita University conducts the AEEE 2025 exam in an online mode for admission to B.Tech course. The university-level exam is conducted in two phases. AEEE 2024 Phase 1 is scheduled between February 1 and 2, 2025, while the second phase will be conducted likely in May 2025. 

AEEE 2025 eligibility criteria requires candidates to pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. They must have 60% aggregate marks in PCM. Also, students must have 55% marks each in all three subjects.

AEEE 2025 consists of three sections with 100 questions. Physics and Chemistry have 30 questions each, while Mathematics have 40 questions. Total maximum marks are 300. Each question carries three marks.

Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2025

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) conducts the Manipal MET 2025 exam for admission to various courses. The exam is popularly conducted for B.Tech admission at Manipal as well. The applications for the Manipal Entrance Test are open and will be closed on March 15, 2025.
