Top Engineering Entrance Exam in India 2025: Detailed Overview

In order to secure admission into prestigious institutions such as IITs, NITs, and IIITs, students must participate in all Indian engineering exams like JEE Advanced and JEE Mains 2025. These examinations serve as pivotal gateways for aspiring engineering students. Individuals can refer to a comprehensive list of entrance exams after 12th, offering detailed insights and information crucial for securing admission into various esteemed engineering colleges across the country.

JEE Main 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the JEE Main 2025 in an online mode. The examination is conducted in two sessions. JEE Main session 1 will be conducted from January 22 to January 31, 2025. While, the JEE Main session 2 will be conducted from April 4 to April 15, 2025. JEE Main 2025 exam requires students to have passed Class 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects with a minimum 75% mark as an aggregate in order to qualify for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

Candidates who pass the JEE Main 2025 exam are eligible for appearing for the JEE Advanced 2025. The exam is necessary for securing admission to IITs. As of last year, 1,80,372 candidates took JEE Advanced 2024, and 43,773 passed.

After the declaration of the JEE Advanced result 2025, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority releases the JoSAA Opening and Closing rank based on which admissions are offered to students through centralised counselling process.

AP EAMCET 2025

The Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur every year for candidates wishing to secure admission to engineering prorgams. The exam is also taken for offering admission to agricultural and medical courses in various colleges of Andhra Pradesh. 

AP EAMCET 2024 witnessed the registration of over 2.74 lakh candidates for engineering entrance examination. It is expected that the registration numbers will be around same this year as well.

The AP EAMCET exam consists of 160 questions, with each question carrying 1 mark. The paper is divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Physics and Chemistry each have 40 questions, while Mathematics has 80 questions. JNTU Anantapur conducts the AP EAMCET Counselling for candidates who qualified the exam. The scores obtained by candidates in the exam hold 100% weightage for the final selection.

MHT CET 2025

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra conducts the MHT CET 2025 exam. As per the calendar released by the conducting body, the exam is to be conducted from April 9 to 17, 2025 for PCB and from April 19 to 27, 2025 for PCM. The registration for the same is ongoing and the candidates can apply till February 15, 2025.

MHT CET 2025 eligibility criteria requires candidates to have passed Class 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/ IT/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies/ Technical Vocational subject for admission to B.E/B.Tech course.

Over 3 lakh PCM category students appeared for MHT CET exam last year for B.Tech admission to state government colleges of Maharashtra.

VITEEE 2025

VITEEE is the popular private engineering entrance exam conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for admission to undergraduate engineering courses. Currently, the application forms for VITEEE 2025 are open and will remain available till March 31, 2025. The entrance exam is tentatively scheduled between April 21, 2025 and April 27, 2025. 

As per VITEEE Exam Pattern 2025, the paper consists of 125 questions five topics – Physics, Maths, Chemistry, English & Aptitude. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. Also, there is no negative marking in the exam.

Students must also note that VIT University solely offers admission to B.E/B.Tech program based on VITEEE 2024 scores. Scores of national level engineering entrance exams like JEE Main are not accepted.

BITSAT 2025

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is conducted by BITS Pilani for admission to B.E/B.Tech program. BITSAT 2025 registration has started on January 21, 2025. The last date to apply for BITSAT Session 1 or both the sessions is April 18, 2025.

The BITSAT exam is conducted in two sessions. The exam dates for BITSAT 2025 Session 1 are from May 26 to 30, 2025. The BITSAT 2025 Session 2 is scheduled from June 22 to 26, 2025.

In the year 2024, over 300,000 students appeared for BITSAT exam. BITS Pilani considers BITSAT scores only valid for admission to B.Tech programmes.

BITSAT 2025 Exam

WBJEE 2025

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) is a body responsible for conducting WBJEE 2025 exam. The entrance exam is scheduled April 27, 2025. The registration for WBJEE 2025 has started on January 22, 2025. Candidates can apply for the exam till February 23, 2025. A total of 1,42,694 students appeared for the WBJEE exam in the year 2024. 

As per the WBJEE eligibility criteria, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics  with 45% overall in the aforementioned three subjects combined (40% for applicants from the reserved categories, i.e., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and PWD). They must also have 30% marks in English subject in their 12th grade.

COMEDK UGET 2024

COMEDK UGET 2024 will be conducted on May 10, 2025 by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka. A total of 1.2 lakh students appeared for the COMEDK UGET exam in 2024. The exam is conducted for B.E/B.Tech admission to different state engineering colleges of Karnataka. The registration dates for COMEDK UGET2025 are from February 3 to March 15, 2025.

As per COMEDK UGET Exam Pattern, there are a total of 180 questions in the paper. The total number of questions are divided equally among three sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The admit card for COMEDK UGET 2025 will be available for downloading from April 30, 2025.

SRMJEEE 2025

SRMJEEE is one of the popular private engineering entrance exams conducted by the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST). SRMJEEE 2024 exam dates are out on the official website of the institute. SRMJEEE 2025 exam is conducted in three phases. SRMJEEE 2025 Phase 1 exam will be held from April 22 to 27, 2025. The registration process for the entrance exam is ongoing on the official website. The last date for SRMJEEE 2025 Phase 1 registration is April 16, 2025.

AEEE 2025

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, also known as, Amrita University conducts the AEEE 2025 exam in an online mode for admission to B.Tech course. The university-level exam is conducted in two phases. AEEE 2024 Phase 1 is scheduled between February 1 and 2, 2025, while the second phase will be conducted likely in May 2025. 

AEEE 2025 eligibility criteria requires candidates to pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. They must have 60% aggregate marks in PCM. Also, students must have 55% marks each in all three subjects.

AEEE 2025 consists of three sections with 100 questions. Physics and Chemistry have 30 questions each, while Mathematics have 40 questions. Total maximum marks are 300. Each question carries three marks.

Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2025

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) conducts the Manipal MET 2025 exam for admission to various courses. The exam is popularly conducted for B.Tech admission at various campuses of Manipal. The registration for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) are open and candidates can apply for MET Phase 1 till March 26, 2025. The MET 2025 Phase 1 exam will be conducted on April 16 and 17, 2025 tentatively.

Manipal MET 2025 Exam

JEE ADVANCED 2025

JEE Advanced examination is conducted by a group of seven IITs on a rotational basis. This year IIT Kanpur is conducting the JEE Advanced 2025. The exam is scheduled to be held on May 18, 2025. The registration for the same will start in April 2025, tentatively.

The JEE Advanced exam has two papers – Paper 1 and 2. Both papers are of 3 hours duration and are conducted on the same date. Candidates who aspire to appear for the JEE Advanced 2025 must have ranked amongst top 2,50,000 in JEE Main 2025 examination. 

All those who clear the JEE Advanced 2025 will be eligible for admission to B.Tech programmes at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). They also become eligible to apply for the Architectural Aptitude Test (AAT) 2025. AAT is an aptitude test for selecting candidates for B.Arch. in IIT (BHU) Varanasi, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee. KCET 2025

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) conducts Common Entrance Test  for admission to Engineering, Naturopathy & Yoga, B. Pharma, 2nd year B.Pharma and Pharma-D, Agriculture courses (Farm Science), Veterinary and B.Sc. (Nursing) Professional Courses in colleges and institutes of Karnataka. The KEA has released the detailed information brochure for the KCET 2025 examination.

Candidates who wish to appear for the KCET examination 2025 can check the official notification of the exam at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. The dates for KCET 2025 are April 16 and 17, 2025 while Kannada Language Test is on April 18, 2025. The language test is only for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates. 

The KCET Result 2025 is expected to be out in June 2025. Candidates who have passed the class 12th examination/ 2nd PUC (Pre-University Course) or equivalent examination are eligible to apply for the KCET examination. All the important dates of the entrance exam are tabulated below.

TS EAMCET 2025

TS EAMCET 2025 is a state-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering, agricultural and medical courses in the state of Telangana. The TS EAMCET 2025 exam for engineering will be held on May 2 to 5, 2025 and for agriculture and pharmacy, the exam dates are April 29 and 30, 2025. The registration process for the examination is expected to start in February 2025. 

Candidates who wish to appear for TS EAMCET 2025 must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry Mathematics/Biology with a minimum 45% marks from a recognized board/institution. The minimum percentage of marks for reserved category is 40%. 

The TS EAPCET exam is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). It is a computer based examination for a 3 hour duration. There are 160 questions for one mark each. There is no negative marking. TS ECET 2025

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has released the exam dates for the TS ECET 2025 examination. The entrance exam will be held on May 12, 2025. The notification for the same will be out in February 2025, tentatively. 

The TS ECET 2025 exam will be conducted by the Osmania University on behalf of the TSCHE. Candidates appearing for the examination will be eligible for admission to the second year lateral entry into B.E, B.Tech, B.Pharm programme in the state of Telangana.

TS ECET 2025

AP ECET 2025

AP ECET is a state level examination conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) in online mode. The conducting body is expected to release the official notification for the AP ECET 2025. The registration for the examination will start in March 2025, tentatively.  

Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP ECET) is conducted for lateral entry into the second year of the undergraduate engineering programs in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates willing to apply for the AP ECET 2025 must have completed or in the final year of Diploma in engineering or BSc with at least 45% marks. 

AP ECET 2025 is conducted in CBT mode. There are 200 questions to be answered in a 3 hour duration. All questions carry one mark each and there is no negative marking. All the engineering diploma and B.Sc candidates can apply for the exam. The AP ECET 2025 examination will be conducted in May 2025, tentatively.

Assam CEE 2025

Assam CEE 2025 exam is expected to be conducted in June 2025. The Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) conducts Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) for admission to the B.Tech programme in engineering colleges of Assam. The ASTU will release the notification for Assam CEE 2025 at astu.ac.in. 

The Assam CEE 2025  will be conducted tentatively in June 2025. The registration process for the same is expected to start in March 2025. The Assam CEE is an offline test. However, the application form for the same must be submitted in an online mode only. The details of the Assam CEE 2025 exam are as given below.

Assam CEE 2025

IPU CET 2025

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University will conduct IPU CET 2025 examination in April/May 2025, tentatively. IPU CET is an university level entrance examination for selecting candidates for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the IP University. The notification for the examination is likely to be out in February 2025 at ipu.admissions.nic.in. 

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University – Common Entrance Test (GGSIPU – CET) is conducted in both online and offline mode. The total duration of the examination is 2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes).  The IPU CET 2025 examination will have 100 multiple choice questions for a total of 400 marks. For each correct answer 4 marks will be awarded and 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer. 

For engineering courses, IP University offers B.Tech in Bio-Technology to the candidates who have cleared the IPU CET examination. The IPU CET result 2025 is expected in the month of June 2025. The IPU CET counselling 2025 will start soon after the results.

GUJCET 2025

GUJCET 2025 examination is scheduled to be conducted on March 23, 2025. The registration for the exam has ended. The official notification of the GUJCET 2025 is available at gujcet.gseb.org. Candidates can expect the admit cards a few weeks before the exam. 

GUJCET 2025 is a state level entrance examination for the candidates who wish to get admitted to undergraduate engineering courses in the colleges of Gujarat state. The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) conducts the GUJCET exams every year. 

The Gujarat Common Entrance Test 2025 will have 120 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. The GSEB releases the answer key and results for the exam soon after the examination. The important dates of the examination are as tabulated below.

KIITEE 2025

The KIITEE 2025 exam is conducted in three phases. The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology has released the dates for all the three phases of the examination. The KIITEE Phase 1 is scheduled to be conducted from April 16 to 20, 2025. The registration for the examination is ongoing. The last date to apply for the Phase 1 of the KIITEE 2025 is April 8, 2025. 

The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Examination is an entrance exam for several courses including B.Tech conducted by KIIT, Bhubaneswar. KIITEE 2025 is an online examination for a duration of 3 hours. There are a total of 120 questions. Each question carries four marks for a correct answer and one negative mark for an incorrect answer. The dates for the KIITEE 2025 examination are as follows.

OJEE 2025

Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Board every year. The OJEE 2025 exam is expected to be conducted in the second week of May 2025. The OJEEB will release the notification for the exam soon.

OJEE 2025 is an computer based examination for the candidates who wish to take admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various universities, government colleges and self-financed institutes in the state of Odisha. Candidates applying for the exam can check the official notification at ojee.nic.in. The application for the same is likely to start in February 2025. 

OJEE result 2025 is expected in June 2025. The counselling for the same starts soon after the release of the results. For the engineering courses, candidates must have passed a three year diploma in engineering.  Based on the scores of OJEE 2025, they will be admitted to the second year of the B.Tech programme at the engineering colleges of Odisha. KEAM 2025

KEAM 2025 is scheduled to be held from April 24 to 28, 2025. The Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) exam is a state level entrance exam for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, architecture and pharmacy. This exam is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala. 

The KEAM application form 2025 is expected to be out in March 2025 at cee.kerala.gov.in. Candidates can check the official website for further details. KEAM 2025 examination is conducted in an offline mode. There are 2 papers – Paper 1 contains 120 questions from Physics and Chemistry and Paper 2 has 120 questions from Mathematics. The time duration for each paper is 2.5 hours. All the questions are of multiple choice type and there is a negative marking for incorrect answers.

JEECUP 2025

JEECUP Polytechnic 2025 official notification is out. The JEECUP 2025 exam is scheduled from May 20 to 28, 2025. The registration process for the same started on January 15, 2025. Candidates willing to take admission into polytechnic courses can apply at jeecup.admissions.nic.in. The last date to apply for UPJEE Polytechnic is April 30, 2025. 

Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) conducts Uttar Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnic or UPJEE(P) for selecting candidates for admission to all government and private polytechnic institutions in the state. 

The JEECUP 2025 exam has 100 objective type questions to be answered in 2.5 hours. Candidates who clear the UPJEE(P) exam 2025 must register to the JEECUP Counselling 2025.

TS POLYCET

TS POLYCET 2025 notification is likely to be out in February 2025 at polycet.sbtet.telangana.gov.in. The Telangana Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (TS POLYCET) 2025 will be conducted in May 2025, tentatively.

The State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Telangana conducts a state-level examination for the candidates seeking admission into all Diploma Courses in Engineering / Non Engineering / Technology offered at Polytechnics / Institutions in Telangana State.

The registration for the TS POLYCET 2025 is expected to start in February 2025. Candidates can check the official website for further information. Candidates who clear the TS POLYCET 2025 are eligible for TS POLYCET counselling 2025. 

AP POLYCET

The State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Andhra Pradesh is likely to release the notification for the AP POLYCET 2025 in February 2025. Eligible candidates can apply for the polytechnic entrance exam at the official website – polycetap.nic.in, soon after the release of the official notification.

The Andhra Pradesh Polytechnic Common Entrance Test or AP POLYCET is a state level entrance examination for admission to various diploma courses offered by government and private polytechnic institutes in the state of Andhra Pradesh. 

The AP POLYCET 2025 exam is expected to be conducted in April 2025 and the results for the same are expected in May 2025. Candidates who clear the exam will be called for AP POLYCET counselling 2025.

TNEA 2025

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) is a state-level counselling process for the candidates seeking admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in the colleges of Tamil Nadu. The registration process for TNEA 2025 is likely to start in the first week of May 2025. 

In Tamil Nadu, admission to various B.Tech programme are based on the scores of the 10+2 examination. Candidates willing to take admission to the engineering courses must register to the TNEA 2025 at tneaonline.org. Candidates who meet the cutoff score will be listed in the merit list and thereby called for TNEA counselling 2025. 

The application fee for the counselling process is INR 500 for general category and INR 250 for the reserved categories. There are 539 participating colleges of Tamil Nadu. The first TNEA rank list is expected to be published in July 2025.

HPCET 2025

The Himachal Pradesh Technological University (HPTU) has announced the exam dates for the HPCET 2025. The entrance exam will be conducted on May 10, 2025. 

The official notification for the HPCET 2025 examination is expected to be out in March 2025 at himtu.ac.in. 

The Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is a state level entrance examination for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in colleges affiliated to HPTU. The eligibility criteria for HPCET 2025 (for B.Tech.) must have passed 10+2 in science stream. Candidates are expected to solve a total of 150 questions in 3 hours 15 minutes. 

TJEE 2025

The TJEE 2025 official notification is expected to be released in February 2025. With the release of the notification, the TJEE application form 2025 will also be available at the official website of the TBJEE board – tbjee.nic.in.

The Tripura Joint Entrance Examination is a state-level examination for admission to various undergraduate professional degree programs. For engineering, the TJEE 2025 syllabus covers subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

TJEE 2025 is an offline test of 30 questions from each subject. The total duration of the examination is 3 hours. The TJEE 2025 will be conducted in April 2025, tentatively. The results for the exam can be expected till June 2025. 

VEE 2025

VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) is expected to conduct the VEE 2025 exam in May 2025. Candidates can visit the official website – vistas.ac.in for VEE application form 2025.

Vels Entrance Exam is an entrance examination for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, management, pharmacy and other professional disciplines. 

Candidates appearing for the VEE 2025 for admission to engineering courses have to attempt 100 multiple choice type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 90 minutes. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking.

CG PET

CG PET 2025 examination will be conducted in June 2025, tentatively. The Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CPEB) conducts Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test (CG PET) for admission to the undergraduate engineering courses in the colleges of Chhattisgarh. 

CG PET 2025 is a pen and paper based examination. Candidates appearing for the examination have to answer 150 questions in a time duration of 3 hours. The registration for the CG PET 2025 examination is expected to start in March/ April 2025. Candidates can apply for the exam at vyapam.cgstate.gov.in, once released.

Karnataka DCET 

Karnataka DCET 2025 is an online entrance test for admission into the second year of the B.Tech programme in Karnataka based colleges. The registration for the same is expected to start in May 2025 and candidates can expect the Karnataka DCET 2025 exams in June 2025.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) conducts the Karnataka Diploma Entrance Test (K-DCET) in an offline mode. However, the application form for the exam will be available online only. Candidates can apply for the Karnataka DCET 2025 exam at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.

Amity JEE

Amity JEE 2025 registration is ongoing. Candidates can apply online at the official website of Amity University. Amity Joint Entrance Examination is a university level entrance test for admission to the B.Tech programme in the various campuses of the Amity University. The Amity JEE 2025 syllabus includes Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of Class 12. Candidates applying for the  exam must have completed the 10+2 level examination.
