Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is conducted by Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) every year for admission to different courses like B. Tech. (Direct Entry), B. Pharmacy (Direct Entry) courses, M.Sc. Physics course, MBA, MBA (T&HM), MCA & B.Sc. (HM & CT)/BHMCT. The notification for HPCET 2026 is likely to be out in January 2026. Note: HPTU allows candidates who are appearing for their final 10+2 exam or bachelor degree exam in March/April of 2026 to sit for HPCET 2026.
HPTU conducts the application process for HPCET exam online via himtu.ac.in and it consists of registration, form filling, payment of application fee, and uploading of documents for verification. - Upload all necessary documents such as scanned copies of your signature and a recent passport-size photograph in the prescribed format.

HPCET 2026: Admit Card
Candidates can download the HPCET e-Admit Card from the University website, himtu.ac.in by entering their application form number or date of birth. The hall ticket will only be issued to applicants who successfully completed the HPCET registration process. A printed copy of the e-admit card (on A-4 size paper) is mandatory for entry to the exam, along with a valid ID proof like Aadhaar.
The e-admit card, signed by the Controller of Examinations, will contain the admit card number, candidate’s photograph, exam centre address, and exam date. Any discrepancies should be reported immediately to the Controller of Examinations.

HPCET 2026: Exam Pattern
HPTU conducts HPCET in offline mode. It is an objective MCQ type test that will be conducted in English. There will be a total of 150 questions in the undergraduate paper whereas the postgraduate paper consists of 100 questions. Candidates appearing for the UG paper will get 3 hours 15 minutes for completing the exam and the time duration for PG candidates is 2 hours. It’s important to remember that for every correct answer, candidates will be rewarded with 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for wrong answers.

HPCET 2026: Result
