Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is conducted by Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) every year for admission to different courses like B. Tech. (Direct Entry), B. Pharmacy (Direct Entry) courses, M.Sc. Physics course, MBA, MBA (T&HM), MCA & B.Sc. (HM & CT)/BHMCT. The notification for HPCET 2026 is likely to be out in  January 2026. Candidates can apply by filling the online application form available on himtu.ac.in website. 

Those candidates who successfully register for the HPCET exam will be able to download their HPCET 2026 admit card by using their login credentials. An admit card is the important document which every candidate needs to carry along with them to the examination center. Without an admit card no candidate will be allowed to give the examination. The tentative examination date for HPCET 2026 exam is in May 2026.

The HP CET eligibility criteria vary depending on the course. However, the basic requirements include passing the 10+2 examination with at least 45% aggregate marks in the relevant subjects. Note: HPTU allows candidates who are appearing for their final 10+2 exam or bachelor degree exam in March/April of 2026 to sit for HPCET 2026.  

HPCET 2026: Application Form 

HPTU conducts the application process for HPCET exam online via himtu.ac.in and it consists of registration, form filling, payment of application fee, and uploading of documents for verification. • Visit himtu.ac.in and click on the ‘Admissions’ tab. Upon clicking, go to the ‘Application Form HPCET 2026’. 
• A new window will open with the HPCET Application Form in view. Start by filling out personal information and academic details.
• Upload all necessary documents such as scanned copies of your signature and a recent passport-size photograph in the prescribed format. 
• After providing all the required details and reviewing the form, pay the application fee to complete the HPCET Registration 2026. 
• Save the submitted form for future reference.

HPCET 2026: Admit Card

Candidates can download the HPCET e-Admit Card from the University website, himtu.ac.in by entering their application form number or date of birth. The hall ticket will only be issued to applicants who successfully completed the HPCET registration process. A printed copy of the e-admit card (on A-4 size paper) is mandatory for entry to the exam, along with a valid ID proof like Aadhaar.

The e-admit card, signed by the Controller of Examinations, will contain the admit card number, candidate’s photograph, exam centre address, and exam date. Any discrepancies should be reported immediately to the Controller of Examinations. 

Steps to Check HPCET Hall Ticket 2026 

Once the registration is successfully completed then the authority will also release candidates HPCET admit card 2026. Check the below given steps to download admit card;

HPCET 2026: Exam Pattern 

HPTU conducts HPCET in offline mode. It is an objective MCQ type test that will be conducted in English. There will be a total of 150 questions in the undergraduate paper whereas the postgraduate paper consists of 100 questions. Candidates appearing for the UG paper will get 3 hours 15 minutes for completing the exam and the time duration for PG candidates is 2 hours. It’s important to remember that for every correct answer, candidates will be rewarded with 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for wrong answers.

HPCET 2026: Syllabus

HPCET 2026: Result 

HPTU will announce the HPCET 2026 result online, the tentative HPCET 2026 result date is in June 2026 based on last years exam schedule. HPCET 2026: Counselling 

HPTU will commence the counselling process for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate programs through HPCET after the results and merit list are released. Candidates will be offered seats on the basis of their rank and merit. The HPCET Counselling 2026 will be conducted online through himtu.ac.in. Qualified candidates will have to register for the counselling process and pay the counselling fee in order to get admission to their desired college and program. Candidates are required to submit several important documents during the counselling process such as 

• Marks sheet and passing certificate of Class 10 & 12
• The scorecard for JEE Main or HPCET
• Domicile certificate & category certificate (for reserved candidates)
