KEAM Eligibility Criteria 2025: The Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) is a state-level entrance examination for admission into various professional courses in Kerala conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala. The KEAM 2025 prospectus will be released on the official website - cee.kerala.gov.in.

As per the last year's KEAM eligibility criteria, the candidate must have completed the age of 17 years as of December 31, 2024. Candidates must have at least passed the higher secondary exam of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or equivalent examination. It must be noted that the educational requirements are bound to vary for various medical, engineering, and architecture courses. Thus, candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for admission into their respective courses. Only the eligible candidates will be able to successfully register for the entrance examination. 

Candidates who successfully register for the KEAM 2025 will receive their admit cards in online mode. The admit cards will be released on the official CEE portal. Candidates must carry their admit card to the exam centre on the day of the examination.

KEAM Age Limit 2025

  • Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2024 
  • No relaxation in the minimum age will be permitted
  • No upper age limit for Engineering, Architecture B.Pharm, BAMS, BSMS, BHMS, and BUMS Courses
  • For MBBS and BDS courses, the upper age limit will be as per the Information Bulletin of NEET (UG)-2024
  • For other Medical Allied courses, the age limit will be prescribed by the respective Central Councils

For admission to MBBS, BDS Courses

  • Candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English separately at the Higher Secondary Exam of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or equivalent exam
  • Candidates must also have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together

For admission to BAMS/ BHMS courses

  • Candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English separately at the Higher Secondary Exam of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or equivalent exam
  • Candidates must also have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together

For admission to BSMS course

  • Candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English separately at the Higher Secondary Exam of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or equivalent exam
  • Candidates must also have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together
  • Candidates must have passed 10th or 12th class with Tamil as one of the languages or they will have to pass the Tamil language course during the first year of their BSMS degree

For admission to BUMS course

  • Candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English separately at the Higher Secondary Exam of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or equivalent exam
  • Candidates must also have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together
  • Candidates must have passed 10th or 12th class with Urdu/Arabic/Persian language as a subject or clear the Urdu exam conducted by a Govt. authorised body or else the candidates willl have to study Urdu along with Arabic and Mantiq Wa Falsafa (Logic and Philosophy) as a subject during their first professional BUMS session

For admission to B.Sc.(Hons.) Agri., B.Sc.(Hons) Forestry, B.Sc (Hons.) Cooperation & Banking, B.Tech Biotechnology (under (KAU), BFSc courses

  • Candidates must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Higher Secondary Exam of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or equivalent exam
  • Candidates must also have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together  

For admission to B.Sc.(Hons) Climate Change & Environmental Science

  • Candidates must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Higher Secondary Exam of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or equivalent exam
  • Candidates must also have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together
  • Candidates must have studied Maths as a subject in their plus two

For admission to BVSc. & AH Course

  • Candidates must have passed in the subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Higher Secondary Exam of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or equivalent exam
  • Candidates must have obtained 50% marks in aggregate of the mentioned subjects

For Engineering Courses

KEAM Academic Eligibility for Admission into Engineering Courses

  • Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Exam of Kerala, or equivalent exam with Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subjects with at least 45% marks in aggregate
  • If a candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks scored in Computer Science will be considered
  • If the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks scored in Biotechnology will be considered
  • If the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology the marks obtained in Biology will be considered 

For Architecture Course

KEAM Academic Eligibility for Admission into Architecture Course

  • Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Exam of Kerala or equivalent exam with at least 50 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Maths or passed 10+3 Diploma Exam with Maths as a compulsory subject with at least 50 % marks in aggregate
  • Only the candidates who score the minimum eligibility marks as per the Information Brochure of National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2024 will be considered for admission to B. Arch. Course
  • No relaxation in the minimum passing score of NATA to any category
  • No provision for lateral admission to the second year or at any stage during the 5-year Architecture course

For B.Pharm Course

Candidates must have passed 10+2 exam conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or equivalent exam with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects separately 

KEAM Nativity Criteria 2025

As per the KEAM nativity criteria, only Indian citizens are eligible for admission to various professional institutes through KEAM examination. The Overseas Citizen of India Cardholder (including PIO cardholder) are also eligible for admission only against any Non-Resident Indian seat or any supernumerary seat. However, it must be noted that the OCI cardholder will not be eligible for admission against any seat reserved exclusively for Indian citizens.

Candidates seeking admission into various professional courses through KEAM 2025 will be categorised as Keralite, NonKeralite Category I (NK I), and Non-Keralite Category II (NK II).

Documents to Prove Nativity 

Keralites

  • Candidate must be of Kerala origin
  • Children of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala cadre will also be considered as ‘Keralites’ but they will not be eligible for any kind of reservation
  • Candidate’s Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) showing place of birth in Kerala
  • SSLC certificate of either of the parents showing place of birth in Kerala
  • Passport of the candidate or either of their parents showing place of birth in Kerala
  • Candidate’s Birth Certificate showing place of birth in Kerala.
  • Certificate from Village Officer/Tehsildar showing that the candidate or either of their parents was born in Kerala
  • Certificate from competent authority showing that either of the candidate’s parents is an All India Service Officer allotted to Kerala cadre

Non-Keralites Category I [NK I]

Candidates who are not of Kerala origin but they fulfil any one of the following conditions will be categorised as 'Non-Keralite Category I' (NK I):

  • Candidate has undergone a qualifying course in Kerala and is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents belonging to the Government of India/Defence Service, posted to Kerala
  • Candidate has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents who are serving/served the Government of Kerala for minimum two years
  • Candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but has been a resident of Kerala for five years within the period of 12 years of his/her study
  • Candidate who is not of Kerala origin but has undergone his/her school studies in Kerala from standard VIII to XII

Note: NK-I candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit” seats for various professional courses. However, they will not be eligible for any reservation or fee concession.

  • Certificate from the Head of the Organisation where the parents of the candidate is/are working
  • Certificate from the Head of the Institution where the candidate is studying
  • Certificate from the Village Officer showing that the candidate is a resident of Kerala for a period of 5 years
  • Certificate from the Head of the Institution showing that the candidate has undergone schooling from VIII to XII in Kerala

Non-Keralities Category II [NK II]

  • Candidates who do not fall under ‘Keralite’ or 'Non-Keralite Category I' will be categorised as ‘Non-Keralite Category II'
  • They are eligible for taking admission in government or self-financing Engineering colleges in Kerala
  • However, such candidates will only be considered for government seats in government-controlled self-financing colleges only when the candidates of Keralite category and Non- Keralite category-I are not available for admission
  • NK-II candidates are not eligible for any kind of reservations or fee concessions

Candidates must submit the ‘Certificate of Completion of Qualifying Examination’ or the passport issued by the Government of India to prove Indian citizenship
