Indian Institute of Technology Goa: Established in the year 2016 by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development,Government of India, IIT Goa is constantly striving to become an unique institution of higher learning with strong focus on quality education and advanced multidisciplinary programs. The campus is situated at Farmagudi, Ponda, Goa.It is one of the youngest autonomous public universities located in Goa, currently it is functioning from its temporary 300 acres widespread campus GEC in Farmagudi, Ponda while ongoing building of its permanent campus at Sattari in North Goa.This temporary campus comprises of seating capacity of 640 students with fully equipped laboratories, classroom along with hostel facilities.

It has seven schools of study offering a range of UG, PG and PhD courses in multiple core and non-core electives.With the motto of “Vidya Vinayena Deepyate” emphasizing on hard work, sincerity, openness/innovation of ideas and intellectual rigor, IIT Goa aims to provide high-quality education along with research opportunities in the relevant fields engineering, science and technology mainly. In the past few years the university has made collaboration with several well reputed engineering colleges such as Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Goa College of Engineering and others. Under the mentorship programme IIT Bombay has mentored  IIT Goa for three pioneer years.

IIT Goa Admission in various B.Tech courses is based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and Advanced. Once the candidate cracks the JEE Advanced examination with desired score then, he/she needs to participate in the JoSAA( Joint Seat Allocation Authority) which is the common counseling process followed by all IITs across India. As per the last year cut off data IIT Goa intakes 157 seats across various B.Tech courses. 

Last year, IIT Goa placement achieved an impressive 90.6% overall placement rate for BTech (2020-2024) and MTech (2022-2024), with 116 students placed out of 128 registered. The average CTC was 15.41 LPA, with top departments like CSE and MnC securing high packages.

IIT Goa offers various B.Tech, M.Tech and Phd courses with eligibility criteria of qualifying JEE Main and Advance exams followed by JoSSA counseling for B.Tech courses, while exams like GATE with COAP counseling is the admission criteria for M.Tech programmes. Apart from UG and PG courses, IIT Goa also provides several PhD programs in diverse disciplines. A candidate must secure a masters degree and research practice in the related discipline of the matter and then has to qualify an examination conducted by the university followed by a personal interview round.
