Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay): The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, a public autonomous research institution founded in 1958, is the most sought-after institute for students interested in technical education and engineering degrees. The Indian government gave the institute the status of Institution of National Importance shortly after it had been in operation for three years. The institution was created with the assistance and technological know-how of the Soviet Union and UNESCO. The institution is located in Mumbai's Powai district (Bombay).
