IMU CET 2025

IMU CET Exam 2025: The Indian Maritime University (IMU) conducts the IMU CET exam every year on an All India basis for admissions to its Programmes for IMU campuses and Affiliated Institutes. The IMUCET exam will be conducted in Centre Based Online Test (CBT) mode. The exam dates will be notified along with the official brochure at imu.edu.in.

Before applying for IMU CET exam 2025, candidates must check the eligibility criteria for B.Sc. Nautical Science & DNS (Diploma In Nautical Science) and other exams. Candidates wish to get admission in pre-sea courses Diploma in Nautical Science, B.Sc. (Nautical Science) and B.E/B.Tech (Marine Engineering) to any MTI (Govt or Private-Affiliated to any University are required to qualify in IMU CET exam.

IMU CET Application Form 2025

The examination conducting body will start the IMU CET application process on its website. As per past year’s trends, it is expected that the registration process will commence from March 2025. However, the official notification is yet to be released.

IMU CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To get admission into 3-Year B.Sc. (Nautical Science) programme, candidates must qualify 10+2/equivalent with (PCM Average-Minimum 60%) and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination. He/she must be unmarried. Check the age criteria relaxation details given in the table below.

Age Criteria	Maximum age: For Male: General-25 years, OBC(NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years For Female:General-27 years, OBC(NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years.
Relaxation	For SC/ST candidates: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks of PCM; however, it will not apply to English Marks Relaxation of 5% in English marks will be applicable to candidates who are native of the Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and belong to recognized Scheduled Tribes of the islands and who & both of whose parents were born in these islands & belong to the Scheduled Tribes of those islands.
Eligibility Criteria-Medical Certificate requirement	Physical Fitness Candidates seeking admission to this Nautical Science Programme must be medically fit including eye sight and hearing as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000, as amended. At the time of admission, candidates will be required to produce certificate of medical fitness issued by doctors approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai. Eye sight: There shall be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye or of the lids of either eye which may be liable to risk of aggravation or recurrence. Candidates must possess good binocular vision(Fusion faculty and full field of vision in both eyes). Movement of the eyeballs must be full in all directions and the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation. Normal colour vision shall be tested by Ishihara Test Chart. Distance Vision unaided 1.0(6/6) in better eye and 0.67(6/9) in another eye.

Eligibility Criteria	i) 10+2/equivalent (PCM Average-Minimum 60%) with minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th Examination. OR B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Electronics with Physics as an individual subject in one of the years, with an average of not less than 55% of the marks in the final year. OR B.E./B.Tech. Degree from IIT or from a college recognised by AICTE with an average of not less than 50% of the marks in the final year. ii) Marital status: Unmarried.
Age Criteria	Maximum age: For Male: General-25 years, OBC(NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years. For Female: General-27 years, OBC(NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years.
Relaxation	For SC/ST candidates: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks of PCM; however, it will not apply to English Marks. Note - Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for these programmes. It is strongly recommended that candidates seeking admission to the Marine Programmes have a Passport. Please ensure that the name on the passport is the same as that given on the 10th Std. Certificate.

IMU CET Admission Process 2025

The IMU CET admission process includes submitting the IMU CET application form 2025 through the official website, appearing for the entrance exam, and then being issued an IMUCET rank certificate. Candidates get admission into IMU campuses, affiliated colleges of IMU, and admission in DGS approved Marine Training Institute (MTI) which are not affiliated to IMU.

IMU CET Admission Process

The Indian Maritime University conducts three types of IMU CET exams. Rank holders from the given CET’s can seek admission to respective UG/PG/MBA programmes.

IMU-CET for UG (B.Tech., B.Sc. ,DNS) Programmes.
IMU- CET for M.Tech. Programmes.
IMU- CET for MBA Programmes.

Candidates who have qualified in the following exams can seek admission:

CUET(UG): can seek admission to UG Programmes at the time of spot counselling for the residual seats available after Third List.

Note - For Admission to BBA programmes, candidates with CUET scores will be given Preference.

GATE/CUET-(PG)/PG-CET: can seek admission to PG Programmes, however, preference will be give to candidates with IMU-CET ranks.
CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/UG Marks: can seek admission to MBA Programmes, however, preference will be given to candidates with IMU-CET ranks.
Ph.D./Ph.D.(Integrated)/M.S(By Research): Details of Entrance Test will be informed through a separate notification.

IMU CET Exam Pattern 2025

The Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMUCET) is conducted in online mode. As per last year’s details, the entrance exam is conducted for a duration of 3 hours. Last year, the IMU CET’s were held from 11 am to 2 pm at various centres across the country. It must be noted that there will be a negative marking of 0.25 in the IMUCET exam 2025.
