Candidates who are preparing for the JPSC 2023 recruitment exam must be aware of the latest exam pattern & marking scheme. JPSC 2023 Exam Pattern
Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination is conducted in two successive stages, which are as follows:
- Stage 1: JPSC Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) for selection of candidates for the Main Examination
- Stage 2: JPSC Main Examination (Written and Interview) for selection of candidates for various state services and posts

JPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2023
Candidates must be aware of the following important points regarding JPSC Main Examination (Written Examination):
- JPSC Mains consists of 6 compulsory papers, there are no optional subjects/papers in the Mains Examination
- Selection list for the next stage, that is JPSC interview, will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidate in Paper-II to Paper-VI (5 papers)
- Paper-I is qualifying in nature, i.e., candidate must obtain at least 30 marks out of 100 in order to qualify for the Main Examination
- Marks scored by the candidate in Paper-I will not be counted to prepare the merit list for the interview or the final merit list
- Thus, in order to qualify for the JPSC interview stage, candidates must qualify Paper-I and they must also score the minimum qualifying marks (as prescribed by JPSC) in the remaining 5 papers

The final JPSC merit list will be prepared on the basis of the overall marks obtained by the candidate in the JPSC Main Examination (Written Examination + Interview) except the marks scored by the candidate in Paper-I.
JPSC Minimum Qualifying Marks 2023
As per the JPSC official notification, only the candidates who score the minimum qualifying marks of 40% in the aggregate shall be considered by JPSC while preparing the selection list for JPSC Main (Written Examination) and for preparing the merit list for the purpose of JPSC interview stage.
