SSC GD Exam 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued the SSC GD Constable Notification 2026 on December 1. The SSC GD 2026 Notification, released on the official portal, contains important details such as eligibility criteria, exam schedule, pattern, syllabus, selection process, etc. Along with the notification PDF, the SSC GD 2026 Application Form Link has also been activated by the commission. This year, the commission notified a total of 25,487 vacancies across various forces, of which 2020 posts are reserved for female candidates. To fulfill the SSC GD Eligibility Criteria 2026, candidates must have passed 10 class or equivalent from a recognised board. SSC Constable GD 2026 Application Form

Candidates aspiring to appear for the SSC GD exam need to visit the official website of SSC to apply for the Constable GD Examination. The SSC GD application fee for the Unreserved Category candidates is INR 100. Aspirants can check the steps given to know how to complete the SSC GD Constable Application Form 2026:

SSC GD Constable eligibility criteria require candidates to pass Matriculation or Class 10th from a recognised board. However, candidates having a 12th marksheet, undergraduate and postgraduate degree can also apply for the SSC GD exam. SSC GD eligibility mandates candidates to have an original marksheet/degree at the time of document verification. 

SSC GD age limit is 18-23 years old. For reserved candidates, there is an age relaxation for the SSC GD Constable exam 2026. Candidates from the OBC and SC categories have an age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years, respectively.

SSC has released the SSC GD Vacancy 2026 initiated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). This year, SSC has released a total of 25,487 vacancies along with the notification. Candidates have to give preference for the following CAPFs/ Organisations, in the order of priority, in the online Application Form. The SSC GD Constable salary for the post of Sepoy in NCB is in the Pay Level–1 and ranges between INR18,000 to 56,900. Meanwhile, all others posts are eligible for Pay Level-3 and range between INR 21,700-69,100. Candidates selected for the GD Constable post will also be eligible for several benefits and allowances under the 7th Pay Commission. 

The SSC GD Constable exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The SSC GD selection process is conducted in multiple stages. Stage 1 of the SSC GD exam consists of a Computer based examination which is conducted by the SSC. Candidates shortlisted through the CBE will have to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by Physical Standard Test (PET) and the Detailed Medical Examination and simultaneously the Document Verification.

This year SSC has made several changes in the Constable (GD) Computer-based examination. The revisions in the SSC GD Examination are mentioned below:

  • Each question has been assigned two marks instead of one. 
  • There has been an increase in the maximum score from 100 to 160
  • The number of questions has been reduced from 100 to 80. 
  • Negative marks have been increased from 0.25 to 0.50 for incorrect answers.
  • The duration of the examination has been reduced from 90 minutes to 60 minutes.

Candidates applying for the SSC GD examination will have to qualify the SSC GD Constable written exam to appear in the subsequent stages of the selection process. To qualify for the CBE, it is important that candidates have a full understanding of the SSC GD Constable Syllabus 2026 prescribed in the official notification. Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link that reads – Download SSC Constable GD admit card.

Step 4: The SSC GD admit card will be available on the screen.

Step 5: Thoroughly verify if all the details mentioned in the admit card are correct.

Step 6: Take a printout of the admit card for future reference.

According to the official notification, the Commission announces the SSC GD Result 2026 along with force allocation based on how well candidates performed in the computer-based examination and the preference of force they selected, subject to their passing the physical standard test, the physical efficiency test, the medical examination, and other requirements outlined in the exam notification.

SSC will be in charge of creating the merit list and producing the final results, while the CAPFs will take care of additional tasks like the exam's structure, vacancies, how PET/PST/DME/RME will be conducted, and document verification, etc. 

The SSC GD Cut off score is released along with the declaration of results based on which candidates will be called for the next round of the recruitment process. The SSC GD Constable Cutoff 2026 is released after the normalization of the score. 

The SSC GD cutoff marks for Unreserved, SC, ST, OBC, EWS and ESM will be released separately for male and female candidates in respect of each State/ UT and further earmarked area of Border Guarding and Militancy/ Naxal affected Districts wherever applicable.
