SSC GD Syllabus 2025: Revised syllabus, Subject-Wise Topics & PET/PST Criteria

The SSC GD Constable syllabus is prescribed in the official notification. Candidates can check the subject-wise syllabus for the computer-based examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission.

SSC GD Syllabus 2025: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will soon release the SSC GD Constable exam dates online. The Commission will conduct the SSC GD Constable exam in January 2025 . The registration process will start on September 5, 2024 and end on October 5, 2024. The SSC GD Constable exam consists of three stages i.e. Computer Based Test, PET/PST, and Medical Examination & Document Verification. Candidates preparing to appear for the SSC GD exam 2025 should comprehensively understand the revised syllabus released by the commission on its official website i.e. ssc.nic.in.

In the first phase candidates need to update themselves with the SSC GD Syllabus 2025 to take the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) type CBE examination which is scheduled for February and March, 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be required to take the PET/PST and then undergo the Detailed Medical Examination(DME) and Document Verification.

SSC will conduct the examination for recruitment of candidates in various security forces intimated by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Last year, MHA has notified 26,146 vacancies in various forces of the Indian government which are as follows:

  3. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
  4. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
  5. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

SSC GD Tier 1 2025: Computer-Based Examination (CBE)

SSC has made several changes in the Constable (GD) Computer based examination. Below we have are as follows:

  • Each question has been assigned two marks instead of one. 
  • There has been an increase in the maximum score from 100 to 160
  • The number of questions has been reduced from 100 to 80. 
  • Negative marks have been increased from 0.25 to 0.50 for incorrect answers.
  • The duration of the examination has been reduced from 90 minutes to 60 minutes.

SSC GD PET Criteria: Candidates shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test will be a race. The Conditions for completing the race are as follows: 

For candidates of Ladakh Region

SSC GD PST Criteria: For the physical standard test candidates will have to qualify the prescribed measurement for height, chest and weight. The measurement criteria are mentioned in the table: 

Physical standard Height:

  • Male candidates: 170 cm
  • Female candidates: 157 cm

There are also height relaxations for candidates belonging to certain areas and categories.

Physical standard Chest:

  • Male: 80 cm Unexpanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cm
  • Female: Exempted

The chest measurement will not be taken for female candidates. However, it is expected that the body is well developed.
