Candidates can take a look at the fee structure.

NOTE: After completing the application form for either the prelims or mains exam, the applicant will be able to get their BPSC admit card for the stage for which they applied.

The BPSC syllabus for prelims and Mains is prescribed by the BPSC itself. Candidates can check the syllabus from the official website. Candidates can check the BPSC syllabus in PDF format. Needless to say, the syllabus is critical for candidates who are taking the BPSC exam, as students will not be able to study properly for the BPSC examination unless they have a thorough understanding of the curriculum. As a result, students are advised to review the BPSC syllabus before beginning preparation for the examination.

Further, candidates should note that the BPSC syllabus is different for the Prelims and Mains stages.  While the prelims stage has two subjects in the syllabus, the mains stage of the examination has 3 subjects and one optional subject, which makes the total 4. There is no predetermined syllabus for the interview stage. Candidates must, however, reread what they learned in their graduation and be mindful of general knowledge.

BPSC Prelims Syllabus

The preliminary examination is the first level of the BPSC examination. This step is also known as the screening stage, and if the applicant passes the prelims, he or she will be able to take the mains exam. Because prelims and mains are two distinct levels, the syllabus for each changes.

BPSC Prelims Subject

  • Paper I - General Studies
  • Paper II - General Studies

BPSC Mains Syllabus

The main exam is the second step. Candidates who pass the preliminary examinations will be entitled to take the main examinations. The Mains syllabus includes three required topics, while the fourth subject is optional, which means applicants must choose one.

BPSC Prelims Subject

  • Paper I: General Hindi
  • Paper II: General Studies I
  • Paper III: General Studies II
  • Paper IV: Optional Subjects

The BPSC exam pattern differs for the prelims, mains, and interview. As a result, applicants should review the test pattern for each level separately.

BPSC Exam Pattern for Prelims

  • The prelims examination comprises 150 questions from the syllabus's required disciplines. The test will be given in offline mode.
  • Candidates should be aware that the prelims exam involves negative marking, with 1/3 marks deducted for each incorrect answer and 1 mark provided for each correct answer.
  • If the applicant marked more than one answer, the deduction will still be valid. There will be no negative or positive scores for unanswered questions.

BPSC Exam Pattern for Mains

The BPSC mains exam pattern differs from the prelims. Candidates ought to examine the exam pattern provided below:

  • The mains, like the prelims exams, will be held offline.
  • The main test includes three required courses and one optional subject.
  • The BPSC mains exam papers will be held individually, with a total of 1000 marks available.
  • The main test lasts three hours for each paper.
  • The exam includes negative markings, and the questions will be in multiple-choice style.

The BPSC result is released by the commission on the official website. The results for prelims and mains are released separately. Candidates who qualify for the prelims examination will be eligible to participate in the mains round.

The answer key for each exam is released by BPSC before the announcement of results. Answer keys are classified into two categories. The first is the tentative answer key, while the second is the final answer key. The BPSC provisional answer key allows candidates to object, but the final answer key allows them to calculate their results. While the provisional answer key is published before the results are announced, the final answer key is released along with or just before the result declaration.

Once the candidate has successfully filled out the application form, then he or she will be eligible to get their BPSC admit card 2025. It is important to note that the admit card for the BPSC prelims and mains stages is released separately.
