BPSC 2023 Admit Card: Eligibility Criteria for Prelims, Main and Interview Round

BPSC Eligibility Criteria: BPSC eligibility criteria are laid out by the BPSC itself and candidates can check the syllabus on the official website. Usually, the exam conducting body releases the syllabus along with the official notification. Hence, it is important for candidates to check the BPSC official notification carefully. The eligibility criteria determine whether the candidate is able to appear for the examination. Hence, it is advisable for all the candidates who are appearing for the examination to check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form.

BPSC Eligibility Criteria

Candidates while checking the eligibility criteria should know that it is necessary for them to fulfil the minimum eligibility for the examination as without fulfilling it, they will not be allowed to fill the BPSC application form. While the maximum age restrictions for certain categories are variable, the BPSC 68th lower age limit eligibility for applicants is established at 18. The upper age limit for general male candidates is 37 years, for general female candidates and OBC candidates it is 40 years, and for SC and ST candidates it is 42 years.

The lower age limit for all the candidates appearing for the BPSC exam must be 18 years, whereas the upper age limits differ for candidates belonging to different categories.

BPSC Eligibility Criteria 2023 - Nationality

• For eligibility for the BPSC posts, candidates must be Indian nationals. Candidates should have the documents required to prove their citizenship.
• Also, those candidates who are permanent residents of the country are eligible to appear for the examination. However, they must fill in the relevant government-issued documents given that they provide permanent residency. 

BPSC Eligibility Criteria 2023 - Educational Qualifications

For the BPSC educational qualification eligibility criteria, the candidate must have completed his or her Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the concerned subject from a renowned university. 

BPSC Eligibility Criteria - Physical Standards 

Candidates are required to achieve certain minimum physical standards when applying for the BPSC exam. Candidates won't be accepted for the examination if they don't fulfill the physical requirements set forth by the BPSC. 

BPSC Maximum Attempts 

Candidates should note that they can attempt the examination as many times as they want. Further, the number of tries is only allowed three times for government workers who have worked three years consistently.
