IIM Shillong Placements 2024: Highlights, Average CTC, Summer Placements and Top Recruiters

IIM Shillong Placement 2024 has been completed, with the enthusiastic participation of 283 students. The placement drive saw various domains out of which the IT & Analytics sector emerged as the domain offering the highest average compensation. The highest and the average placement package offered stood at INR 71.50 and INR 26.10 LPA respectively.

IIM Shillong also organized summer internships for students. IIM Shillong offered an impressive stipend package, with the highest amount reaching INR 5,21,000. The internship program showcased a strong average and median remuneration, with figures reaching INR 1,98,000 and INR 1,70,000 respectively. IIM Shillong summer placement 2024 witnessed the active participation of 72 prominent recruiters, including 38 new recruiters, reaffirming the institute's strong industry connections and the interest of companies in engaging with IIM Shillong students. 

EXL, Infosys, Manyawar, Uber, Adani, Amagi, Jio, and Mahindra emerged as some of the top recruiters at IIM Shillong. IIM Shillong extended placement opportunities to candidates pursuing the Postgraduate Program for Executives (PGPEX). The batch of 2024 witnessed 87 PPOs made to students enrolled in diverse management programmes.

IIM Shillong Placements 2024 witnessed the enthusiastic participation of a total of 283 students. Among the participants, 79% were males, and 21% were females. The students displayed rich diversity in their educational backgrounds, with 45% hailing from engineering disciplines. Additionally, 36% of the students specialized in finance, commerce, and other diverse fields. A notable 10% of the students were from the field of pure sciences.

A significant proportion of students, 32% to be precise, possessed domain experience in the vibrant realm of IT and Analytics. It was followed by 13% in finance, 14% in sales and marketing, 3% in operations, and 9% in strategy. The remaining 29% were from other domains, showcasing the varied interests and expertise of the students. Furthermore, 22% of the students brought 24 months of invaluable professional experience to the table, contributing to the enriching dynamics of the placement process. IIM Shillong students were offered the highest CTC of INR 71.50 LPA. The Subsequent Median and average CTC at IIM Shillong were INR 25.67 LPA and INR 26.10 LPA respectively.  Yearly there is a 16.70% increase in the average CTC. IIM Shillong students received the highest offers from Consulting and Strategy (32%). Following that were the domains of Finance (29%), Sales & Marketing (21%), IT & Analytics (5%), General Management (5%), and  Human Resources & Operations (8%).

IIM Shillong summer placement 2024 experienced the active participation of 383 students. Among the participants, a majority of 47% were males, while 53% were females. In terms of educational background, Engineering emerged as the primary field of study, with 41% of the students specializing in this discipline. Following it, 27% of the participants came from the finance and commerce sectors. Pure science constituted 15% of the students. The remaining 17% represented various other fields. The student's internship experiences also varied:

• Notably, 6% of the students focus on IT And Analytics. 
• Sales & Marketing accounted for 46% of the students,
• While 14% pursued internships in the finance domain. 
• Strategy & Consulting attracted 17% of the participants. 
• HR & Operations encompassed 9% of the students.
• The remaining percentage of the students explored other domains. 

Furthermore, a subset of students possessed valuable work experience ranging from 24 months to 36 months, bringing their practical insights to the internships. Among them, 26% had an experience of 25-36 months, as depicted in the graph below:
