For admission to any of the 25 courses available at Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, candidates will need to have a national-level entrance exam score (such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, IIT JAM, CSIR, or UGC-NET) and subsequently go through a counseling process (JoSSA, CCMT, or CCMN).
IIT Mandi's flagship program is the B.Tech. degree. To secure admission to the B.Tech. program at IIT Mandi, candidates are required to possess a Higher Secondary Certificate (10+2) with a minimum of 75% marks. Subsequently, seats are allotted based on their performance in the JEE Advanced examination, followed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSSA) counseling process. In the academic year 2021-2022, IIT Mandi admitted a total of 1018 students for its undergraduate program, comprising 808 males and 210 females. The tuition fee for IIT Mandi's B.Tech. program is INR 1,06,750 per semester for UR/OBC/EWS candidates, whereas SC/ST/PH candidates are required to pay INR 6750 per semester.
To qualify for the JEE Advanced exam, it is necessary to attain a rank within the top 2,50,000 performers in the B.E./B.Tech. paper of the JEE Main exam, regardless of your category. IIT Mandi offers an integrated program that combines B.Tech. and M.Tech. Dual Degrees in fields like Biomedical Engineering, Agro-Technology, Environmental Science and Engineering, and Computational Bioengineering. The B.Tech. and M.Tech. dual degree program in Bioengineering is designed to educate students on the application of engineering principles to develop new technologies utilizing physical, chemical, mathematical, and biological sciences for the diagnosis, treatment, and enhancement of biological systems.
