NEET PG Counselling 2025: Round-wise Seat Allotment, Merit List, Schedule

MCC has released the revised schedule for NEET PG Counselling Round 3 at mcc.nic.in. Round 3 registration started on January 15, with the last day to submit an application set as January 26. Round 2 seat allotment was declared on December 17, 2025.

NEET PG Counselling 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the revised schedule for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 counselling Round 3 on January 15, 2026, following the NEET PG 2025 cut-off percentile reduction announced by NBEMS on January 13, 2026. The registration for Round 3 opens on January 15 and runs until January 26, 2026, with choice filling from January 16 to January 26. Seat allotment results will be declared on January 29, 2026, followed by reporting from January 30 to February 6, 2026.

NEET PG Counselling 2025 Round 2 Seat Allotment Result was declared on December 17, 2025. The provisional seat allotment result was released on December 16, 2025. The provisional result was only indicative in nature and subject to change. Candidates cannot claim any right over the allotted seat in the provisional result, and the provisional result cannot be challenged before the Court of Law. 

The MCC started the NEET PG Counselling Round 2 registration on December 5, 2025. The choice locking for the second round started on December 9, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 11:55 PM. The committee released the revised counselling schedule for the NEET PG Counselling 2025 on November 25, 2025, at mcc.nic.in. The committee announced the seat allotment result for the first round of NEET PG Counselling 2025 on November 22, 2025. 

The complete schedule for NEET PG Counselling 2025 is available at mcc.nic.in. The committee has officially started Round 1 of NEET PG Counselling 2025 on October 17, 2025. The NEET PG counselling registration window is now open for the eligible candidates based on the NEET PG 2025 scorecard. The counselling procedure takes place once the candidate has qualified for the NEET PG exam. The MCC conducts the process for admission to 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, all deemed/central universities, and ESIC/AFMS colleges, whereas the 'State Quota Seat Allotment Process' will be conducted by the different state counselling authorities.

NEET PG 2025 Counselling Round 3 Revised Schedule

The MCC has announced the revised schedule for the NEET PG 2025 counselling Round 3 on January 15, 2026, following the NEET PG 2025 cut-off percentile reduction announced by NBEMS on January 13, 2026. The registration for Round 3 opens on January 15 and runs until January 26, 2026, with choice filling from January 16 to January 26.

Seat allotment results will be declared on January 29, 2026, followed by reporting from January 30 to February 6, 2026. Rounds 1 and 2 concluded earlier, with Round 2 reporting extended to December 30, 2025.

The committee announced the Round 1 seat allotment result on November 22, 2025. A total of 26,889 candidates have been shortlisted in the first round of NEET PG Counselling 2025. Of the over 2 lakh students who appeared in the NEET PG exam 2025, around 1,28,116 have qualified for the exam.

MCC handles the seat allocation process for deemed, central universities, 50% AIQ seats, and 50 State quota seats. Candidates must first register online before taking part in the counselling process. To participate in the NEET PG counselling process must score more than or equal to the qualifying NEET PG cutoffs released by MCC. It should be noted that the NBE releases the qualifying cut-off scores for the NEET PG along with the results. Take a look at the NEET PG cut-off along with the cut-off qualifying percentile. 

Candidates who clear the NEET PG exam with a minimum cut-off percentile are eligible to participate in the counselling process. NEET PG counselling is held for admission to 50% All India Quota seats and 100% seats at deemed/central universities, ESIC, and AFMS. MCC will conduct four rounds of NEET PG counselling for the above seats.

Further, the respective state authorities will conduct a counselling process for the remaining 50 % of AIQ seats. The counselling process begins with online registration and concludes with candidates reporting to the designated institute with all required documents. Step 1: Registration 

The first step for those candidates who want to take part in the NEET PG counselling process is registration. Candidates have to register themselves on the official website of MCC, and candidates must know that MCC accepts registration before each round. However, candidates are required to register for the NEET PG counselling only once and do not need to register a second time.

Choice Filling 

In this step, candidates need to select the desired course and college from the list provided by MCC. Candidates have the option to select as many options as they want. The option that has been given on the left side of the screen will then move to the right side of the page that the candidate has selected. Further, candidates have the add or remove options in the list.  

Candidates are advised to double-check their choices before submitting them, as seat allocation will be based on them.  Candidates must lock their choice, or it will be locked automatically after the due date. They must also keep a copy of the choices filled in for future use.

Seat Allotment Result

The NEET PG counselling results are released by the MCC in the form of a seat allotment list. The results PDF consists of details including the candidate, rank secured, the course or the institute allotted to her/him, and remarks. MCC will begin seat allotment processing after the registration process for the first round of NEET PG counselling.

On the basis of options filled by the candidates, their all-India ranks, reservation criteria, availability of seats, and other aspects, the seats will be allotted. Further, the seat allotment list will be uploaded on the official website in PDF format. 

Candidates who will succeed in the seat allotment process can download their allotment letter by logging into their registered account on the official website.

Reporting to the Institute 

Candidates who will be successfully allotted a seat in the counselling process will then have to report to the allocated institute. Candidates must carry the necessary certificates in original along with a self-attested copy. Further, they have to pay the required fees to secure their seats during the counselling process. Candidates must note that they must be present physically for the verification of documents and confirmation of the allocated seat. Their candidature will be lost if they don't show up at the designated institute.

The NEET PG seat matrix shows the number of seats available for each speciality course. The seat matrix also specifies the number of seats available for each candidate category. It will be made available before each round of NEET PG counselling. Before filling out the preference form, candidates should consult the NEET PG seat matrix to determine their chances of getting the desired speciality with their score.

Once the results for seat allotment for the first round of NEET PG 2025 counselling are out, candidates have to select their options based on their status. They must select one of the following options to give their accent to participate in the next round of NEET PG counselling.

Option 1: This option is termed a 'free exit'. In case a candidate does not report to their allotted institute within the given duration time, then their NEET PG counselling 2024 round one gets automatically cancelled.

Option 2: If the candidate is satisfied with the given seat in the round of counselling and reports to the given college during the time frame will be able to secure their seat. 

Option 3: For those candidates who are not satisfied with the given seat in the first round have the option to opt for the up-gradation of seats and participate in the next round of counselling. If a seat is not upgraded in the second round of NEET PG 2023 counselling, the seat in the first round will be retained. 

The NEET PG second-round counselling process is similar to the first round. New candidates who did not participate in the first round must register and pay the registration fee in this round. Those who registered during round one are not required to register again. However, regardless of whether they declare their preference in the first round of NEET PG 2023 counselling, all candidates must fill out the choice form.

Who is eligible to participate in NEET PG round two counselling?

  • Candidates who were not able to get any seat in the NEET PG counselling round one 
  • The seat that was assigned in round one but was cancelled during the physical document verification process
  • If a candidate wishes to upgrade his or her allotted seat in the NEET PG round one counselling
  • Candidates who chose the 'free exit' option or did not participate in the first round of counselling

The NEET PG mop-up round will be held for seat allotment in deemed, central universities, and ESIC institutes. Applicants who didn't show up to the college that was allotted to them during rounds one and two of counselling will need to sign up for the NEET PG mop-up counselling.

If candidates did not receive a seat in either round 1 or 2, then candidates are not required to reapply for the mop-up round. In this round of the seat allocation process, all candidates will be required to fill out new choices of colleges/courses. The mop-up round seat allotment results will be posted on the official website.

As mentioned earlier, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is responsible for giving admission to the 50% AIQ seats of government, government-aided and private colleges in India.  Further, the rest of 50 % of the colleges also take admission through candidates' NEET PG scores. However, the respective state government conducts the counselling process for these colleges.
