What's New in UGC NET 2024? The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to conclude the registration for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test, UGC NET December session 2023. The registration for the same began on September 30, 2023 and the last date to apply for UGC NET is September 28, 2023. Candidates who are eligible can apply online through the official website - ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
National Testing Agency has released the UGC NET exam dates 2024. The exam conducting body released a press release of the annual examination calendar for the academic year 2024-25. As per the details released by the NTA, the UGC NET exam 2024 session 1 will be held between 10th June and 21st June 2024.
On September 30, the National Testing Agency (NTA) initiated the online registration process for the December 2023 UGC NET examination. The official notification from the agency specifies that the deadline for submitting online applications is October 28, 2023. Those who wish to apply for the National Eligibility Test conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) can do so by visiting the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
Apart from result, NTA also declared UGC NET cut off 2023. The exam conducting body released the UGC NET subject-wise cut off 2023. UGC NET 2023 requires a minimum qualifying mark of 40% for the General category and 35% for the Reserved category. Meanwhile, UGC NET exam 2023 was conducted in two phases. While UGC NET phase 1 exam 2023 was conducted from June 13 to 17, 2023, the second phase was conducted from June 19 to 22, 2023.

UGC NET Overview 2022-23
The main aim of the UGC NET exam is to identify the qualifications of applicants for the positions of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) at various Indian institutions and colleges. While the NTA has laid out the dates for the UGC NET 2023 June session exam, the UGC NET 2022-23 cycle was held from February 21, 2023 till March 16, 2023, in 5 phases.
While the first phase of the UGC NET 2022 exam was conducted from 21st February 2023 till February 24, 2023, the second phase was conducted from February 28, 2023, to March 02, 2023. On the other hand, the third session was conducted from March 03, 2023, till March 06, 2023. The fourth phase took place from March 11, 2023, till March 12, 2023. Finally, the fifth phase was conducted from March 13, till March 16, 2023.
UGC NET Eligibility Criteria

Filling the application form is the second step for candidates who are interested in appearing for the examination. The registration process started on May 10, 2023, and came to an end on May 31, 2023. The application process consists of several steps including filling out the form, uploading necessary documents and paying the application fees. Further, candidates must know that the application fees differ for candidates who belong to different categories. Once the candidate successfully submits the application form, then he or she will be eligible to get the UGC NET admit card.

Once the candidates have successfully filled out the application form, then he or she will be eligible to get their UGC NET admit card. On June 10, 2023, the NTA released the UGC NET admit card on its official website for candidates who will be appearing for UGC NET phase 1 exam.
The hall ticket is obviously a necessary document for all applicants who show up for the test. Aspirants who will not have the admit card will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. Candidates must login with their application number and DOB in order to download the hall ticket. UGC NET Syllabus for Paper 2
While paper 1 is required of all students, paper 2 candidates have to appear for the exam for the subjects which they have chosen. The UGC NET test Paper 2 has 82 subjects in total.
UGC NET Exam Pattern
The UGC NET exam 2023 is a computer-based exam and consists of paper 1 and paper 2. The total number of questions is 150. While paper 1 consists of 50 questions, paper 2 consists of 100 questions. The questions are in MCQ form, and each question is of 2 marks. Students should note that there is no negative marking in the exam.
While paper 1 is of one hour, paper 2 is of two hours. The UGC NET paper 1 is 100 marks, whereas paper 2 is 200 marks.
UGC NET Paper 1 Exam Pattern
As per the NTA, paper 1 of the UGC NET is generic in nature, intending to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. Paper 1 aims to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate and consists of topics including reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
UGC NET Paper 2 Exam pattern
According to the NTA, the UGC NET paper 2 is based on the subject selected by the candidate. All the students must appear on paper 2 of the UGC NET. Candidates are only required to appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation only.

UGC NET result 2023 was declared on July 26, 2023. Candidates can download the UGC NET Result 2023 by logging in on the official website. After the declaration of Result, the NTA will also release the cut-off. All the documents can be checked on the official website.
