DIAT Pune Admission 2024: Eligibility, Selection Criteria & Exam Dates

The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune (DIAT Pune), provides admission opportunities in postgraduate and doctoral programs encompassing engineering, food science, material sciences, and other related disciplines.

DIAT Pune's flagship program is the M.Tech course. Admission to DIAT Pune's M.Tech program requires candidates to have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks for the GEN/EWS/OBC category. For SC/ST/PWD category candidates, a 6.0 CGPA or 55% marks are necessary for admission. Subsequently, seats are allocated based on the GATE/MHT-CET MTECH score, followed by Centralised Counselling (CCMT). In the academic year 2021-2022, DIAT Pune had a sanctioned intake of around 546 students (300 males and 246 females) for PG courses. The M.Tech tuition fee at DIAT Pune is INR 36,000 per semester.

Admission to various courses at DIAT Pune is based on a national-level examination, primarily GATE. Candidates who have not qualified in GATE are required to take the institute's entrance examination for consideration.

The GATE CCMT cutoff for the current year has been officially published. In the case of Quantum Computing at DIAT Pune, the highest and lowest GATE marks in special round 1 for open-category students are 367 and 359, respectively.

DIAT Pune Ph.D. Admission 2024

DIAT Pune Ph.D admission in Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Technology Management necessitates a master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA. SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD candidates may be eligible for a 5% relaxation in marks. The selection criteria will be determined through the institute's entrance examination and a subsequent personal interview.
