The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune (DIAT Pune), is a deemed institute that came into existence in 1952, and is located in Pune, Maharashtra. DIAT Pune is approved by AICTE, UGC, and NAAC. DIAT Pune is ranked #57 in the engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2023. 

The flagship course offered by DIAT Pune is M.Tech. For admission in any M.Tech course, the candidate should have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of  6.5 CGPA or 60% marks for the GEN/EWS/OBC category. On the other hand, SC/ST/PWD category candidates need a 6.0 CGPA or 55% marks for admission. Later seats are allocated based on the GATE/MHTCET MTECH score followed by a Centralised Counselling (CCMT). The sanctioned intake of students in PG courses by DIAT Pune in the academic year 2021-2022 was around 370. 

One of the most competitive specialisations in M.Tech programs at DIAT Pune is Quantum Computing. The maximum and minimum GATE marks for 2023 in  Quantum Computing were 367 and 359 in special round 1 for open-category students.
