UGC NET Syllabus 2025 is released on the official website for University Grants Commission. Candidates must note that the UGC NET 2024 exam consists of two papers -- Paper 1 and 2. While paper 1 has topics from Teaching and Research Aptitude, paper 2 consists of 85 different subjects.
Last year, a new subject was added to the UGC NET exam which goes by the name of 'Hindu Studies'. Candidates who are appearing for the UGC NET exam 2025 should carefully check the syllabus from the official website as it will prove extremely beneficial for candidates while preparing for the exam.
Both the UGC NET exam papers consist of MCQ questions. Candidates are required to attempt all the questions during the examination. Apart from checking the UGC NET exam syllabus, candidates are also advised to check UGC NET exam pattern 2025.
UGC NET Syllabus 2025

UGC NET Syllabus 2025: Paper 1
Candidates must know that the UGC NET syllabus for paper 1 aims to analyse the teaching and research ability, cognitive abilities, and general awareness of the candidate. UGC NET Exam Pattern 2025
The National Testing Agency conducts the UGC NET exam and the paper is conducted in the CBT (Computer Based Test) mode. The first step of the candidate towards preparation for the exam is knowing the UGC NET exam pattern thoroughly. Students can download the exam pattern from the official website of the UGC.
The UGC NET paper 1 will be common for all the candidates who are appearing for the exam, whereas paper 2 will be based on the subject that the candidate has selected. While the UGC NET paper 1 will consist of 100 marks, paper 2 will contain 200 marks. Which makes the total mark 300.
