UGC NET Exam Pattern 2024: The UGC NET exam pattern is considered one of the most essential aspects for all candidates who wish to appear for the UGC NET exam. UGC NET exam pattern allows candidates to have a better insight into the exam and the exam structure. It also helps students to understand in what direction they are required to pay more focus regarding the exam.
The National Testing Agency is responsible for setting the exam pattern. It is important for students to understand the exam pattern comprehensively before appearing for the exam. The UGC NET exam pattern comprises two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers have multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and students are given a cumulative exam time of three hours for both papers.
Usually, the UGC NET exam pattern remains the same for each year. However, if the NTA makes any changes in the exam pattern, then they inform students through an official notice. Further, candidates must know that they will not get any break between both paper 1 and paper 2. The NTA conducts the UGC NET exam 2024 in Computer Based Mode, and the question paper is set in only two languages including English and Hindi.
UGC NET Exam Pattern
Back in 2018, as per the UGC NET exam pattern, the exam for both the papers (papers 1 and 2) would have been conducted in two different sessions as students were allowed to finish their exam of both papers in a duration of one and two hours, respectively. However, in the year 2019, changes in the UGC NET exam pattern were made by the NTA and now candidates are required to give both paper 1 and paper 2 in a single three-hour duration. Apart from checking the UGC NET exam pattern, candidates should also check the UGC NET syllabus 2024. Candidates can find the syllabus on the official website.
Meanwhile, the UGC-NET exam for phase 5 has already been conducted from March 13, till March 15, 2023. The admit card for the same was released on March 09, 2023.
